This is a courtesy post for gorgeous Spectre who needs to be re-homed, because the owner's other cat absolutely will not accept him. If you are interested in this sweet, beautiful boy, email Black and Orange Cat Foundation at [email protected] to get an application and for more information. He is located in the Columbus, Ohio area.

His is what his deeply upset owner says about him:

"Spectre is a beautiful neutered 8-year old domestic longhair. He has fur as soft as a bunny, the tail of a squirrel, a perfect pink nose and toes, and the face of a human man. Despite looking like a wizard full of ancient wisdom, Spectre is actually a very sweet and silly kitty.

Spectre was rescued from a hoarding situation in Sept 2024 and adopted in Feb of 2025. He was very skittish for a couple of days but when he realized how good it feels to be pet, he gained confidence and trust fast. He loves to be stroked anywhere on his body and have his neck scratched. He makes biscuits on the floor as he walks and adores being brushed. He even allows nail trims (although it can be challenging when he’s making biscuits!). He purrs so loud and gives excited tail shakes, is tolerant of being picked up, and allows kisses on his head. (He also does the silliest handstand when getting down off the couch!) He can still be a bit shy with new people, but with a calm and quiet environment he gets curious and comes to sniff and meet them.

Spectre is a fiend for the laser pointer and will zoom across the room and try to jump up the wall to catch it. He loves catnip and enjoys flinging catnip mousies around by himself. He also loves a nice cozy spot to nap and loves to look out the window and birdwatch.

Spectre also loves other cats. He wants nothing more than to have a kitty companion to zoom around the house with or cozy up next to. Unfortunately, my resident is not accepting Spectre despite separate litter boxes, feeding stations, Feliway plugins and more. This has caused stress for both critters and Spectre has been separated in my office. He is still happy to see me, but is sad being isolated and his appetite is now being affected. I contacted the ASPCA (I had adopted him from one of their rescue partners out of state) and I was told by them because he was shy and would regress in a shelter environment, he would be euthanized if returned.

Spectre has seen a couple veterinarians while in my home and received the following medical care (I can provide all veterinary records).

PAWS Veterinary Urgent Care advised that Spectre is in wonderful shape medically, but that he is exhibiting stress in my home. He was prescribed Gabapentin to manage his stress here but I truly believe the Gabapentin would NOT need to be a long term situation.

I have been absolutely devastated to come to the conclusion that Spectre is not a good fit in my home. He’s a very sweet and precious boy who does not deserve to be euthanized! Can you please help us? He needs a home with a welcoming cat to really thrive and be comfortable."

These four babies are currently at East Hilliard Vet Services in Hilliard. They are all four males, are about 7-8 weeks old, and are getting their beginning vet care.

The boys' mom is a semi-feral cat who was hit by a car while she was pregnant and brought to East Hilliard for vet care. She recovered and had her babies and now they all need good homes.

Mom will also need a safe home, possibly a barn home, as she is still very shy. If you would have a safe home for mom, please let us know.

Mom has tested negative for feline leukemia/FIV, had her vaccines, and will be spayed this week.

The boys are playful and sweet and adjusting to all the interactions from being on full display in the waiting room at the vet office (noises, dogs, irritating people like me wanting to hold them!).

If you are interested in adopting one of these cuties, you can get more information by calling East Hilliard Vet Services at:

This is a courtesy post for a lady (Rae) who is taking care of four outdoor cats that she's been feeding and providing winter shelter for since the Summer of 2020 shortly after they were TNR'd as kittens. Three of them (listed below) would make good indoor cats (Rae can pick them up and they try to get inside, etc).

Rae will be moving across the country into an apartment this summer and wants to make sure they are cared for. Even asking for this help is difficult because she loves them very much and will miss them greatly.

Rae will provide costs for vetting them, and any other costs related, (all got shots in 2020. The only one vetted since then is Binx who needed medical care and got vax updates at that time. Rae can provide all paperwork).

All three cats are spayed/neutered and have had initial vaccines. Vet care will be updated prior to the cats going to new homes.

The Cats (all black with a tipped ear):

Binx: (Male) He is funny in that he goes through waves of being extremely friendly, being ok being held and will cuddle with Rae in the hammock, and then will get very skittish for a time. Every single day, he stands at the window begging to say hello to my indoor cats so Rae thinks he would be a good candidate to be adopted into a home with existing cats if he can’t stay with Mama and Jiji. Rae wants to get him inside ASAP due to his mosquito allergy (his ears scab over every summer from being bitten).

Mama (Kiki): (Female) VERY friendly. Asks for attention, will sit with Rae. She was TNR'd while pregnant and adopted the others once she was released. She allows Rae to pick her up and hold her for hugs. She has hyperesthesia on her back, but loves head and neck scritches.

She and Jiji are always together; splitting up those two is another reason Rae has had a hard time, because ideally they'd get to live together.

Jiji: (Male) Also very friendly, will cry and follow you for attention. He allows Rae to pick him up momentarily. Bonded with Mama and likes saying hello to the indoor cats.

If you would like to adopt one or more of the kitties, please email us at [email protected]. Vet care will be updated prior to the cats going to their new home.

Miss Arwen is named after the Elven Queen from Lord of the Rings. And she is definitely an ethereal, multi-dimensional feline who just happened to appear in the back yard of one of our board members. Slipping out of the woods on little soft padded paws, Arwen came each day looking for food during the winter before finally allowing herself to be captured on Christmas Eve so she could have a better life.

When Arwen went to the vet, she was already spayed, but had not been ear-tipped to allow us to know that. We did ear-tip her, but she was so friendly that we knew she needed an inside home and did not really want to be frolicking in nature any longer--especially not with the coyotes in the woods.

Arwen has been vaccinated, tested negative for feline leukemia/FIV, microchipped, dewormed, and treated preventatively for fleas/ticks. She is about 2-years-old and is good with other cats.

Arwen loves to be petted. She is a huge purr bug and purrs up a storm, butting you with her head to get more attention. She does not really like to be picked up, but she will sit beside you looking for love as long as you are willing to rub her head. She is a little shy at first, but as soon as she knows you, she comes running to see you and is all over you for pets and food.

If you would like to adopt this little elven girl who walks on her tippy-toes when she braids around your legs, please email us at [email protected] for an adoption application and more information.

This is a courtesy post to find a home for sweet Toby. He is about 1.5 years old, has been vaccinated, tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia, and is neutered.

Toby is located outside of chillicothe, Ohio, but his current caregiver is willing to drive him to Columbus to get him a good home. She is unsure how he is with other cats, but he did great with her smaller dachshund. She is unsure about big dogs. Her kids torment him, so he doesn't like children under the age of 5, but she thinks he would be okay with kids who were kind and gentle.

His left eye is not missing. The caregiver said she can even see it in sync with his right eye. But the vet said it isn't effecting his quality of life and wouldn't recommend removing it.

If you would like to know more about Toby or request an adoption application, please email us at [email protected]

He is only being rehomed, because the kids are mean to him.

My name is Vance. I was roaming a Hilliard neighborhood in late Fall. It's no fun being abandoned, but I would show up at this one house and find dinner waiting for me. In January just before it got really cold and snowy, they took me inside and gave me my own room. I slept for 3 days. I am a dark brown/black tabby, male, est 1-1/2 to 2 years old. I went to the vet and have been neutered and vaccinated. There are plenty of cats in this home already, so I would like a place of my own with someone who is patient and kind and will help me adjust to new surroundings. I'm doing a better job of trusting people than I used to and I welcome her when she opens the door. I don't think I'm ready for children and I don't know what to expect with dogs. If you have a safe, warm and cozy barn and give me yummy food, water and TLC, that would be ok too.

If you would like to know more about Vance or to request an adoption application, please email us at [email protected]

The City of London is proud to partner with the Cat Welfare Association and Sunnyside Veterinary Clinic to offer a feral cat trap-spay/neuter-return program. This program is only for feral cats. A feral cat is not socialized to humans, cannot be handled, and is not simply an "outdoor cat". If you ar...
