BARN HELP WANTED !! Plainfield, Indiana, start tomorrow !!
full time position available immediately for the right person, experience and good work ethic is a major +. Must be able to self manage daily duties and schedule with limited supervision, you’ll be part of a on-site team. Your primary role and responsibilities will include the daily cleaning of approximately 30 stalls, daily feeding and watering, fixing stall matts as required to avoid tripping hazards in stalls. Weekly stall stripping and bedding as required. maintaining water bucket, cleaning and bleaching buckets as required, sweeping and maintaining barn isles daily, being part of the team turning horses out in the morning and pull in in evenings weather permitting. The day to day chores may vary depending on activities going on around the facility, however the basic needs of our 4 legged friends always come 1st, clean stalls, fresh clean water and ensuring there daily nutrition needs are managed. There will also be times when the hay trailer will need to be unloaded, you’ll need to physically capable of handling a 50lb bail, carrying a 5 gallon pail of water on daily bases, managing a wheelbarrow and manure fork.
We have approximately 60 horses on site, you would be responsible for approximately half of there daily care and management. For the right persons with experience there could also be opportunities for you to teach and join our instructor program, this would provide you with additional income. We have a full lesson program, we are looking to add an additional instructed in the evenings and on weekends.
Lastly - This isn’t a job for the weak of heart and soul, you need to love horses and want to be around them, you need to have good common sense and great communication skills with people and animals!!
