Please welcome Dallas to the Renko family. Dallas’ rescue means a lot to us. This boy came into our friends at animal control back in July. He was underweight, had a raw & bleeding nose, raw ears, a tail that was somehow missing several inches of the distal end that was definitely not done surgically. What tail was there was stained & striped looking like it had laid in excrement over a grate, as were his legs & feet. We made the decision to again not post those pictures. Life is sad enough & that part of his life is past to not be repeated ever again. We don’t know his story but the physical clues of his body told it likely wasn’t the happiest one. His spirit, however, was still as sweet & loving as if he had never known an ounce of discomfort🐾. Unfortunately, Dallas kind of blended in. He wasn’t stressed in his kennel. So the dogs that were were focused on to get out. He wasn’t flashy & those that were got out. He wasn’t little & fluffy. You get the point🐾 Recently, Dallas was finally starting to get stressed & he had to be a priority. This boy has always stayed loving & smiling but the kennel was beginning to be his nemesis. We were lucky to have a new foster reach out hoping to help a pittie in need💜 Dallas is not yet available for adoption. This boy needs to soak up some love, decompress, gain some more weight, enjoy couches & fluffy beds & all the food & treats his heart desires🐾 Thank you to our friends at animal control that work so hard to keep these animals safe & cared for & thank you to Dallas’ guardian angels getting him out & to all of you so that we can smile a little knowing this day, we had a win. Welcome sweet Dallas💜🐾

**1/15/25 UPDATE - Danny has been ADOPTED 🎉 He will be going to his new furver home this weekend where he'll live out his years being spoiled and loved! ❤️ We couldn't be more happy for this guy! 🐾**

Happy Sunday from Big Dan aka Danny. 🐾😍 This sweet man is 9 years old and looking for home to call his own. He was thrown outside, along with several other cats, by his previous people and forced to live in a cold barn because someone was peeing outside the litter box. He is front paw declawed 😠 and had no way of defending himself, nor was he the culprit! He is now with us in a warm foster home and has not had any litter box issues, he uses it every time!❤️ He didn't deserve to be put in that situation! He is gentle giant and gets along with other cats.

Maisy has more to share with you than just her toys. THIS SWEET GIRL IS ADOPTED!!🎉 This munchkin found herself with our friends at animal control as an unchipped stray. We searched sights, she was posted & shared after she was found. No one came forward & cages fill so we were ecstatic to give this girl a new chapter. She is as sweet as the donut she carries around 🥰 We were more excited when a wonderful family we know well & love reached out after losing their very loved dog & were looking to give another pup a great life!! This girl is loving life, a tiny bit spoiled😉 & running laps chasing snowflakes in her huge new yard in between her daily family walks. Happiest life sweet Maisy, we adore you & your family & we love we still get to visit!!! 💜🐾

We were humbled & truly grateful to receive a generous donation & these kind words from Humane Society of Aurora Illinois . This organization has been active for years in helping animals & the people in rescue in multiple ways. To be recognized for our efforts & to receive a donation that they also work hard to receive is appreciated so very much. We are truly fortunate to be surrounded by some really great people. As this year comes to a close, we want to thank all of you that support us in all the ways each of you do!! In rescue, you see the terrible sides of humans but you also see the absolute best as well. Souls filled with empathy & love for the creatures that need it most. I know I say it repetitively, but this rescue belongs to each & every single one of you. You are the reasons we can do this & we are forever & indescibally grateful💜 we wish you & your families, both human & critters, the very best in the coming year! Happy New Year! 💜🐾🎉

Sweet Frankie also went to visit Santa Claus!! We had to show off our guy & how festive he looked🥰 Frankie is a palliative care/hospice case of ours after we realized he was in rougher shape than we know & sadly, most of it being from neglect. We are so lucky his foster family is making up for those years & letting him live his days being surrounded by love & furry friends. For anyone not familiar with him, Frankie is our guy that came to us so overgrown & matted it was hard to tell there was a dog under there at all. His teeth were so rotted & infected it had eaten his jawbone & after a couple of surgeries trying to hold it together unsuccessfully, the wire stayed out as his jaw is in pieces that can no longer regrow together. We also had to pull every last tooth he had. So we are sure he asked Santa for all the canned food!! Your donations help us to take on the cats & dogs that need extra & to give them whatever we can so they are healthy & comfortable♥️ Frankie still gained some pep in his step & we hope his Christmas wishes have all come true 🌟 Thank you to all of you that help make cases like Frankie’s possible & to his foster family that shows him all the love & keeps him looking so handsome too.

If you need a heartwarming story, Foxy is it!! It’s a bit long & includes her hero award but Cliff’s Notes version is FOXY IS ADOPTED!!🎉🎊 Foxy came to us after remaining unclaimed with our friends at animal control. Our awesome foster that has Frankie our hospice foster was more than happy to open their home to Foxy🐾 The youngest son of our foster was hoping for a furry friend to play with & unfortunately we think Frankie is about 105 & not exactly a ball of energy. When another little was in need, he was looking forward to a young “chaweewee” friend. We felt terrible telling this guy that pup had immediately found a home. Instead of feeling sad, he took it with grace & said, “That’s good it has a family!” Omg, our hearts♥️Flash forward to this “chaweewee” and knowing she was going to be an immediate foster fail!!🥰 To earn her keep, Foxy has also earned a hero award. This naughty girl ran out the door to the neighbor’s chasing a squirrel. There her family found their neighbor in the doorway after he had fallen in the wee hours of the morning feeding said squirrels. Unfortunately, he had been unable to get back up. Thanks to Foxy & her family, he got the help he needed♥️ Happy life sweet Foxy, you could not have found a better family & we love still getting to see you!! We are so proud of you & for you!!💜🐾💜

SWEETIE IS ADOPTED!!🎉 When a friend of ours was looking for a lap dog but also a friend for their 100 lb pup, we weren’t sure how this would go. Sweetie was weighing in at 5 pounds so we were a little concerned of her even getting accidentally hurt. We knew the resident pupper was a gentle giant. What we didn’t expect was that the electrocuted looking mess of what we think is a dog was going to be terrorizing the big dog. Day one she had him jumping on the couch to escape from potential ankle biting harm. But she did it out of love. Lol. She also forced the cat to love her. It was definitely not on the cat’s plan, but Sweetie is slowly winning the cat battle. In the meantime, her & her large furry brother are now an inseparable duo💜 Sweetie was named for her disposition as she is a cuddly, sweet gremlin that just happens to have no fear, and energy to spare. Luckily, she has a huge back yard to run Zoomies with her brother, parents that love her & a mom that knits her sweaters to stay warm🐾 And we get to see her whenever we want!!💜 Happy life sweet girl, we know it’s going to be amazing!!!

Stella, the gentle giant! #adoptdontshop #rescue #cat

We are very behind on the good news but DHARMA IS ADOPTED!💜 This girl has been in her home for quite awhile now. In fact, she was always home💜 Dharma was one of the puppies that came to us after being found beside the road in a box by a Good Samaritan. She was with one other living sibling & one deceased. She was able to heal up with medical care & the love of her foster parents. The resident dog also quickly became a surrogate mom for the tiny ones, especially Dharma. Despite what she had endured, she took on the nickname of Velociraptor & happily left destruction in her curious & fearless wake🦖She & her brother had a love hate relarelationship so soon after Bodhi found his home, Dharma’s foster parents (and our dear friends) decided she was the crazy needed to complete the family!!! 💜 Happy life sweet girl, we love that we still get to see your mischievous self🥰🐾 #renkoanimalrescue #sweetpuppy #shesmostlysweetbutsometimessassy
