Hyaluronic Acid (100 mg per scoop). HA is a component of collagen, and is classified as a mucopolysaccharide. It belongs to the same category as Chondroitin and Glucosamine. In addition to being a potent antioxidant, Vitamin C attacks damaging free radicals, produced naturally within the body during oxidation and inflammation. It contributes to wound healing, maintenance of capillaries, bones, teeth, and absorption of iron, and helps in the formation of collagen.

Vitamin E NATURAL (D-Alpha- tocopherol-acetate) enhances muscle tone and endurance in working horses, and it also improves circulation. Vitamin E improves heart function, enhances the immune system and acts as a potent antioxidant. As an antioxidant, Vitamin E is very important to the diet, for their free radical scavenging properties. Free radicals are produced in higher quantities during times of stress, such as heavy exercise, illness or injury. Beneficial for the prevention of tying up.

Lysine is needed for appropriate growth (muscle, blood, and hoof-building) and bone development; it helps calcium absorption, and maintains proper nitrogen balance. This amino acid aids in the production of antibodies, hormones and enzymes, and helps in collagen formation and tissue repair. The horse’s body is about .05% magnesium, or about one half pound in a mature horse.

Magnesium is an activator of many enzymes involved in energy production. It assists in calcium and potassium uptake, and plays a role in the formation of bone, as well as in carbohydrate and mineral metabolism.

Basic Nutrition products are amazing. I’m so grateful that I can ask Joe for a product I need and he sends it out immediately. The best service on the planet. The horses never turn away from any of them. I love to have echinacea and the milk thistle on hand for immune boosting. The chaste tree berry is great for my filly to keep her happy! It is an absolute must for any that appear to have Cushings. I gave it to my 24yr. old retired GP horse who was put on meds for cushings and had his coat shaved every two months from growing so long. Within 6 months he was totally turned around. No long coat, no meds and has a shiny dappled coat for two years now. JIAOGULAN is amazing for hoof health, respiratory function, and connective tissue.

Saccharomyces cerevisiae (20,000mg/scoop) is a digestibility enhancer and gut flora stabilizer. If the fiber is making a greater contribution to the horse’s requirements, then less concentrates should be required, which is ideal for any horses that are prone to digestive upsets or over-excitable behaviour.
