Our wonderful veterinary nurse/technician, Diamond, is leaving us. She is going to work in a laboratory, geared more towards her bachelors degree. We are so proud of her! However, we will be very short staffed. For the month of February, we may be delayed in emails, texts, answering/returning phones, prescription refills and appointments. Meet Harley. Harley was diagnosed with stage 5 lymphoma. She sought out Dr. Shawn after her previous veterinarian quoted her over $10k for treatment. A new patient came in not feeling well with a large swelling on her shoulder. Dr. Shawn aspirated the mass and looked at the discharge under his microscope which showed it was an abscess from a cat bite. Treatment involved holistic sedation and making a small puncture to evacuate the contents of the abscess. It was then cleaned with an antimicrobial solution. The cat has made a full recovery. Abscesses commonly result from cat bites due to inoculation with Pasteurella bacteria. They can cause severe illness and even death in 1-2 days if not treated properly. If you or any family member has a cat bite, wash it thoroughly and consult with your doctor. If your cat or dog is bitten by a cat it should be seen as soon as possible by your veterinarian. 🐈‍⬛ 💉

We work with you as a team and look at all options (both conventional and alternative) so that your pet body can get stronger and stronger. Our ultimate goal is "true healing" rather than simply "feeling better."

Sometimes we need to be realistic and see that the animal's body may not be able to heal itself. We can still try to make the pet's life as positive and comfortable as possible.
