We recently had a gentle giant visit us at UrgentVet! 🐾 Meet Reo, who came in after his family discovered an open wound on his leg. Our team quickly jumped into action, and Dr. S expertly closed the wound with surgical staples. Through it all, Reo was as brave as they come—fearless and full of heart! 💙

With the heat still in full swing, remember that our furry friends feel it too! Walking your dog in hot weather can lead to heatstroke and other injuries. Here's why: Concrete and asphalt retain heat, making it much hotter for your pet, and these surfaces can burn their paw pads. When it’s above 80-85 degrees, it’s best to walk your dog in the early morning or at dusk. If that’s not possible, keep walks short and stay on the grass. Always provide plenty of water and watch for signs of heatstroke, such as excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, and confusion. If you notice any of these, bring your pet to us right away.
