SPCA Pet of the Week
Meet Toot, a gentle soul with a heart as big as his paws. At 72 pounds and 2 years old, Toot is a Mixed Breed with a unique personality waiting to bloom. Shy at first, he may take a moment to warm up, but with patience and kindness, he'll soon become your loyal companion.
Toot is dressed to the nines with his short, blonde and white coat! He has white socks and an adorable white tip to his tail! Toot’s smile is contagious and so are his smiling brown eyes.
Toot is currently undergoing treatment for heartworms, but that doesn't dampen his spirit. In fact, it's a testament to his resilience and strength. As he continues his journey to full health, Toot is seeking a calm and loving home where he can thrive.
One of Toot's endearing qualities is his treat motivation. Whether it's a tasty snack or a gentle word of encouragement, Toot responds eagerly, making training sessions a breeze. His willingness to learn and please makes him an ideal candidate for foster-to-adopt arrangements, where he can settle into his forever home at his own pace.
Despite his initial shyness, Toot is a social butterfly at heart. He gets along well with other dogs and people, making him a great addition to any family. With a little extra care and understanding, Toot is sure to blossom into the perfect companion, ready to fill your days with love and joy.
It’s always best to bring any two- and/or four-legged siblings to a meet and greet prior to adoptions.
Like all pets at the SPCA of Texas, Toot has been neutered, microchipped and has had all his age-appropriate vaccines. He is waiting for his new family at the SPCA of Texas Russell E. Dealey Animal Rescue Center, so you’ll need an appointment to meet him. Simply find his profile at SPCA.org/dogs and click on the “Make an Appointment” button. Toot’s team will take it from there.
There’s a Spring Fling happening at the SPCA of Texas! Throughout the month of April, all puppy adoptions are 1/2 price and adult dog, and adult cat adoptions are only $25. This special is valid at both the Dallas and Ellis County Animal Care Centers.
