Let’s help sweet Eggsy! 🩷 We are raising $800 in funds to help this sweet guy that’s struggling.

Meet Eggsy, a sweet 6-year-old pup who has already won over all our hearts. We're not sure if he's part poodle or terrier, as his hair loss makes it hard to tell—and that's just the beginning of his struggles.

Eggsy came to us with inflamed skin, a yeast infection, and several bald patches. Our amazing volunteers have been giving him medicated baths multiple times a week, hoping to soothe his skin and help him heal. While we thought all he needed was some extra love and care, a month has passed with little improvement and additional weight loss.

After running a blood panel, our vet discovered that Eggsy has digestive issues. His body isn’t efficiently processing his food, which means he’s not getting the nutrients he needs. We’ve started him on a special calorie-dense diet, but if he doesn’t start to gain weight soon, Eggsy may need additional tests, including a specialized GI panel, to uncover the root cause of his health problems.

Eggsy has such a loving, spirited soul, and he deserves every chance to live a happy, healthy life. Your donations will help cover:

ADOPTED! 🩷 Meet Bayek, the Sphynx cat! Bayek is a social butterfly and I love everyone. He wastes no time being curious or nervous and loves to throw himself into everyone's arms. Bayek is an attentive cat that loves to receive and give attention, with plenty of hugs, headbutts and love. Bayek is happiest around people and doesn't show any reaction to cats of dogs. Bayek would be the perfect cat to a home looking for a lovebug just like him.

ADOPTION PROCESS: If you are interested in adopting from Second Chance SPCA, please come to our adoption center during business hours. Appointments are not required. Adopters will visit with an adoption counselor and complete a short application. Adopters must live within the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and be at least 21 years old. Renters must provide proof of pet deposit and/or written permission by landlord to have a pet.

ADOPTION FEES: Includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, f***l, and heartworm test (dogs) or FeLV/FIV test (cats). All cats and dogs are current on heartworm and flea preventative. $250 for puppies under 6 months of age and $200 for dogs older than 6 months. $150 for kittens under 6 months of age and $125 for cats older than 6 months.

It’s another Meow-nday! 🐱 We aren’t open for adoptions today but that won’t stop us from posting cute animal pictures!

Twist is a lively little terrier puppy with a heart full of energy and a nose always on the hunt for treats! At just 3 months old, she’s still learning about the big, exciting world around her. Twist is currently around 8 pounds but could go up to 30 pounds. While she can be a bit shy when meeting new faces, it doesn’t take long for her to warm up and show off her playful, cheerful nature.

Twist thrives on fun and adventure—whether it’s chasing toys, playing with her favorite humans, or romping around with her doggy friends. Her boundless energy and enthusiasm make her a joy to be around. With her love for treats and her eager-to-please attitude, she’s ready to learn, grow, and steal hearts along the way.
