Today was a big day. After Hurricane Milton we had Teco (Our Electric Company) cut the power line to our shop because we had a tree that had fallen over and was leaning onto a smaller tree and both were threatening to come down and take out our power line and collapse onto our shop. So today we had a bunch of tree work done by B&G Tree Service and hopefully tomorrow we’ll have our power restored.

Another update!
We owe a big thank you to everyone that has helped us and shown generosity after Hurricane Milton. Thank you to everyone that has been helping us clear all the fallen trees and debri! Thank you to Lee's Exotics for sending Hungry Howies our way when we were working on clearing the property!
We are so incredibly grateful for you all!!
We are still making our way through cleaning the barn. The toy room is clean. The main part of the barn is clean. And we are currently working on the office and kitchen. As of now, the only thing in the office is an empty desk. And the only thing in the kitchen is a bleach soaked fridge. The fridge smelt delicious when I initially opened it up. 🤮 Lol.
We should be all finished up before the Holidays arrive. You know what’s also arriving soon? Breeding season! And guess who just delivered us a large inventory of metal nest boxes? Ammerman Nest Boxes!

We’ve had people reach out and ask for updates on the property so I figured I’d go ahead and share an update with you all.
The property is dry! Ish!
We started the cleanup process in the toy room first. And well, to my disappointment, I thought all the toys would be safe because they were stored in brand new trash cans from Home Depot. But unfortunately I was wrong. The flood caused them to float and tip.
But yeah. That’s the update so far.
At least the weather was nice today while we sorted through stuff and started cleanup.

I really can’t say enough good things about Doug. Doug never showed up to the party. HE WAS THE PARTY. That man had so much sass, wit and humor! Doug made everyone’s day so much brighter. I miss you Doug! I’m so glad to have known you and to have had you as a friend! ♥️
