Re-check at eye specialist yesterday. No better...soooo added more drops. She is back on metacam for another 5 days too. We are only able to fight the infection and wait. Cannot do any surgery due to age and advanced heart disease. Mom gets very little sleep and hears almost constant barking! Totally spoiled by so much attention!
A word to all my CCZ friends. As you know we had to release Olive to be free of her failing heart. While my most difficult dog to lose of soooo many... we had no idea Sabrina would be hit so hard. See Sabrina theoretically should have crossed over first. Her heart is worse by the textbook definitions and her heart depreciated faster but had held.., she is true grit. One thing she did... she paid homage to the alpha Olive. She now she has totally lost it. I have meds given to sedate her and I have. Pray for peace while Sabrina sorts this out.
I must need grief intervention. Drive up to the cabin... even with rain all the way through Florida and sunshine beginning at the Georgia line...made record time! Dogs did great and all was just peachy keen until Sabrina had a cardiac emergency around 9 pm...off to Blue Ridge to the only emergency vet in a tri-county area...treated great but it took forever. Yes Sabrina is home with us and now sedated...I am still wide awake knowing we are yet again on the downhill slide. Yes that is Sabrina grooming her alpha Olive...
So. Hoping the totally too busy Katura Belle Stansberry will explain where we are with Daisy. Yes she is on limited time but she can explain why we chose the course we did today...yes we still have Daisy for a little while..,
Having trouble posting.. cross your fingers connection holds... little nugget AUGUSTUS won’t be ready for a couple of weeks... but, sure he is cat friendly...😂😂😂
What a day. Two very special dogs ready for adoption. One is said to have Stage 1 cancer in his rear leg (I am in denial) and the other lost a rear leg from a run in with a car. My word! We sure have had our share of dogs with leg issues!!! We are looking for the right adopters for dogs such as these! We would be happy to discuss what our options are with Bubba the Beagle looking boy. Harmony the Princess of Sweetness is joy on a pogo stick!
If you are interested in either of these survivors, contact me at caninecomfortzone @gmail.com
We want them to have a happily ever after! They have been through enough!
So wasn’t going to tell this story but too good not to share...
Yesterday PENNY had her last visit with Dr Hay...so here is how it went down.
Jen foster Mom was working in a separate building doing Medicals on the 100 cats they had to confiscate...so Vet Tech Brandi is going to get me Penny out of Jen’s office at PRC. Penny doesn’t know either of us really so she freaked out a little... felt like we were trying to catch a feral cat! At one point Brandi and I were under the desks trying to get her. I know Penny is not a biter so she didn’t scare me but I was doing all the chiwee tricks trying to get a slip lead on her without throwing a crippled dog into gator rolls. She was captured and shook like a leaf until we got started on her journey... lots of cooing involved...
We got to our visit with Dr Hay...we are good now. She is with the program.❤️
Bring her back... Jen is out to lunch her office door locked and no Brandi... asked for front desk Supervisor... not there. But as a veteran of shelter ways... got in her office and backed out quickly. Penny looked at me totally confused!
Though about it later... poor dog was abducted by a stranger, taken across the county and returned without her foster Mom’s presence. Poor dog cannot even tell Jen about her day!!! Bwahaha
Oh, she is available for Adoption! Leaving the “other” leg on. I got the BEST advice from Dr Hay. ❤️😎😊
Crazy playful Penny is getting spayed Friday! We should get extra shelter points since normally all dogs are spayed/neutered prior to leaving! Our trusted vet Stephanie Sabshin Dvm will do the magic at Harmony Vet Care.
Today is National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day!
This is Timmy, who CCZ saved from the shelter. He only has 3 legs, but plenty of pizzazz and personality!
Let us know if you know a PERFECT home for Timmy. He is ready for his forever home. Only the best for our little pups!
Take a look at who is ready to go!
Timmy may have lost a leg but he gained a spirit and a big personality. As you can see, he loves other dogs and is especially playful.
He's about 12 lbs, 2 years old, and he needs a special family who loves his bubbly nature!
Know anyone who might want to meet handsome Timmy?
