Summer Horse Camp - Registration Open!

*Camp1 is 3 days and Includes an invitation for the camper to ride in our wagon for the Memorial Day Parade in Hempstead, Tx on May 29th (weather and unforeseen circumstances may effect the parade, not guaranteed)

For all camps, $100 non-refundable deposit is required to hold your spot. Prior to May 1st if you need to switch weeks and there is space, that's available.
Camp is open to kids 8 years old thru 16 years old. No experience necessary. Camp includes daily riding lessons, various mounted activities such as laser tag, cattle sorting, relay games, scavenger hunts, obstacles, and much more!

Dickens on the Strand Parade in Galveston, Texas. We carried Moody Gardens mascot, Baby Shark, and their team thru 3 parades! Ace and Cash, 2 Belgian geldings, did fantastic and enjoyed the bagpipe marching band directly in front of us!

We have openings for riding and driving lessons!!
Join our riding or driving program and learn what it means to be a horseman. Discover how to communicate with horses safely and effectively; develop balanced riding; understand the things a horse needs to be healthy, happy, and safe; learn how to drive a cart, carriage or wagon; learn how to select and fit a saddle; learn basic first aid for horses; discover horse psychology and instincts; ride in a variety of different spaces varying from our oversized arena, riding ring, round pen, obstacle course, barrels, jump course, cross the creek, thru pond, up the berm, and thru the trees. Our 47 acres provides more than just arena riding for our students!
Riders lessons available for ages 6y and up and under 240 pounds. Riding lessons are $60 for a one hour private riding lesson - held weekly, a minimum of 8 consecutive weeks.
Driving lessons are available for 8y and up. We have miniture (26") thru draft horses (18-3h) available for driving lessons. We have 2 wheel carts, 4 wheel surrey (carriage), and multiple wagons. Driving lessons are $100 per hour for private lessons. We encourage 2 hour blocks for maximum benefit in driving lessons.
All our riding and driving lesson students have access exclusive opportunities that are not available to the public including private seasonal camps, additional free instruction on ranch skills such as hay production or mending fences, and gatherings such as family bonfires. *The last day we will have a horse show for the parents.
Camp 2: June 14-17
Four Days $300

Camp 3:
Advanced Camp
June 23 - 25
Three Day $250
8am - 1p (5 hrs/day)
Pre-requisite - must demonstrate the ability to lope/canter with good control prior to signing up for the camp.
All camps have a non-refundable $100 deposit to register. The remaining balance is due one week prior to camp starting. Deposit may be transferred (at minimum of 7days prior to the camp originally enrolled in) to a different week or to a riding lesson.
For all campers:
Jeans and boots are required (if you don't own boots we do have a few loaners, please ask!); bring snack/drink; bring your own helmet or wear one of ours.

A. The name(s) of your camper, age, height, weight, riding experience, and any special needs.
B. Which camp 1,2, or 3
C. For camp 3, include a video of your camper loping a horse under control.
D. Send your payment (deposit or payment in full) to Iron Horse Guest Ranch c/o Niki Henson 25896 Riley Rd Plantersville, Texas 77363.
Upon receipt of your email, I will hold one spot for 3 days so you have time to submit the deposit.
Payments (including the deposit) can be made by zelle transfer, check, or cash only. A free Iron Horse Guest Ranch tshirt will be offered to all campers who pre-register with full payment (not only deposit) by May 1st.
Note: In years past, we have held 4 to 5 weeks of camp and all sold out. So, if you want to have a camp spot, you will probably need to sign up quickly since only 3 weeks are offered this year.
