The Spring publication of The American Black Hereford advertising deadline is approaching quickly! This edition will feature the 2025 Sire Directory.

Spring breeding season is right around the corner, now is the time to advertise your bull. If you are interested in advertising or featuring your A.I. or herd sires, contact Ernie Dominguez or Brianna Chavez to get your advertising space secured. All advertisements must be sent in by February 1st.

Introducing the judges for the 2025 Cattlemen's Congress National Black Hereford Junior and Open shows.

Dr. Brian Rogers (Junior Show):
Brian is from Bryan, Tx. Brian’s passion beef industry led him to Stephen F. Austin state University where he received his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Animal Science, then to Texas A&M University for his Ph.D. in Physiology of Reproduction with an emphasis in beef cattle. Brian and his wife Caroline and daughter Lindsey and Bexley and son Cash founded BCR Ventures in Bryan, TX focusing on purebred Red Angus and Black Angus. They run 60 purebred Angus and Red Angus donor females in addition to a 100 head commercial recip herd that they utilize for their personal ET program. Brian has had the opportunity to judge all over America and South America.

Brian and Caroline also own BCR cedar fiber that provides livestock bedding throughout North America. BCR ventures specializes on purebred Angus and Red Angus genetics that are sold all over the world and have sold genetics to Australia, Vietnam, Mexico, Argentina, Ecuador, Venezuela, Canada, Spain and Europe.

Chad Oates (Open Show):
Chad resides in Rising Star, Texas where he is the show and sale cattle manager for 4G Angus and Herefords, about a 40 head registered program focusing mainly on embryo transfer, specifically focused on raising quality show heifers in both breeds. He has been at 4G for the past 12 years, and has had a successful run with them. Racking up numerous breed champions at all of the Texas major livestock shows, including 2 Supreme Female titles, and 1 Reserve Supreme Female title at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, as well as Champion Bred & Owned Female at the Junior National Hereford Expo.

Chad is also the Junior Activities Director for the Texas Hereford Association where his responsibilities include: show management, membership, and sale consulting. He is responsible for the largest single breed state show with 500-600 head in attendance at the Texas State Hereford Show. Chad is also the Superintendent for the Miniature Hereford Show at Cattlemen's Congress in Oklahoma City.

The American Black Hereford Show will begin at 3pm tomorrow in the Jim Norick Arena at Cattlemen's Congress.

We hope to see you tomorrow in OKC. If you are unable to make it the show will be live-streamed.

Showmanship
Junior: 7-10 years old
Intermediate: 11-14 years old
Senior: 17-21 years old
