It was another successful weekend in Missouri at their state show this weekend! Congratulations to Brian and Clint Rickey on their accomplishments.

You might remember this piece of art from the National Taxidermy show, after countless hours of tweaking the final details Brian competed with it in the World Taxidermy Championships this past weekend. He was graciously awarded Best in World for Large Antlered/Horned game head in the Masters division. This is Brian’s second Best in World title in his career.

Brian competed this past weekend at the National Taxidermy show where he didn’t come home empty handed. Among the awards Brian won North American champion mule deer, champion natural habitat and competitors choice game head. Well deserved for the amount of time and impeccable details such as all of the cacti hand crafted by Brian.

Brian spent the last weekend at the Iowa State Taxidermy show where he was the judge for the whitetail deer category. While he was there he put on a seminar on altering forms and performed critiques to teach other artists how to improve their mounts.

Did you know that alongside taxidermy Brian spends much of his time working with other artists sculpting mannequins, ear liners and replacement noses? To give you the most life like mannequin they use clay to build up every muscle layer before it is sent out for production. The time, precision and eye for detail these artist have is impeccable.
