Thursday, September 1st, a brand new beginner class took place! 📚
🐾Gracie is a 3 yr/old Yellow Lab!!
She loves all foods and greeting new friends!! 👋🏼🍗😋
🦴Marshal is a 7 mo. old lab/pit mix!!
He was super excited to start class!
He definitely loves treats! 🍖🤩

•They learned about body language, some safety tips, how to sit calmly and more!! I asked each of my pet parents to find the treat that really motivates their pet- with Gracie and Marshal.. any treat will do!! 🥰

An Open Letter to my “Imperfect” Dogs…

You may not always have the perfect heal, the perfect sit, or the perfect recall.

There may be days where my palms sweat on walks, as I brace myself for a potential interaction that could send you over threshold.

You may bark from time to time at moments that aren’t “ideal”, and sometimes we may get frustrated with one another.

I may not be able to bring you everywhere that we once imagined, but it’s because your safety, comfortability, and boundaries are my number one priority.

Despite the hurdles, all of this is alright. We move forward and we move on, and we do so as a team.

Part of what makes you special is the part of you that many people will never get the chance to see. While sometimes that makes me sad, it also makes me feel honored that I get to see the “you” that feels safe enough to express your silly, goofy, loving selves.

So, to my imperfect dog that’s doing the best they can…

I know that you’re not always trying to give me a hard time. Sometimes, you’re having a hard time.

I’ll always do my best to help you through these moments of uncertainty, and to not mourn “what could be,” but instead, celebrate “what is”.
