JRs offers boarding, training, conditioning, and rehabilitation for veterinarian referrals.

Here at JRs Equine Spa, we know firsthand the importance and need for rehabilitation services for the horse owner in Southwest Missouri. In May of 2014, we had just finished the beginning stages of reining training on our stallion when an incident would stop us in our tracks and ruin our stallions performance career forever. Our stallion sustained injury to his left front fetlock when his leg got

caught in between round pen panels as he tried to breed a mare who got loose.

Luckily there was no break, however, he did sustain a torn tendon, as well as a few huge open wounds. Upon recommendations by our vet, we increased his protein intake to compensate for the weight he would lose as well as the oozing from his wounds. However, we didnโ€™t compensate for the increased calcium intake he would be receiving and it was just two weeks after the incident that he would develop full blown ring bone on his front left fetlock. The vet gave us the devastating news that he would no longer be able to be ridden and most likely wouldn't be able to mount a mare for breeding. We were crushed as our whole breeding program was focus around our stallion. Being a person who knows firsthand the remarkable miracles that organic and holistic treatments can do, I turned to the great product of Equibone, as well as massage and essential oils. In May of 2015, we had our stallion x-rayed again and the vet was amazed of the results and actually gave us the okay to proceed with western pleasure training. We have not put our stallion in training yet as we want to see just how far we can improve his fetlock with ongoing treatment.

In 2016, we started learning of other holistic treatments available for the equine but saw that there weren't any facilities in Missouri that offered these services. If there are, we have not been able to find them. Thatโ€™s when we decided we would like to offer such a facility in which veterinarians can comfortably recommend to their clients additional equine rehabilitation services. Disclaimer: All therapies mentioned herein is a non-invasive modality intended to enhance well-being in the healthy horse โ€“ it is not designed to replace proper veterinary care. In 2011, 'Yellowstone' creator Taylor Sheridan was working as an actor and down to his last $800.
When his attorney attempted to negotiate a pay raise for his role as Deputy Chief David Hale in FX's 'Sons of Anarchy,' an exec told him:
"He probably deserves to make more, but weโ€™re not going to pay him more... There are 50 of him. He is #11 on the call sheet. Thatโ€™s what that guy is and thatโ€™s all heโ€™s ever going to be."
That was the final insult that convinced Sheridan "I didnโ€™t want to be #11 on the call sheet for the rest of my life.โ€
So he got to writing, and four years later, he'd turned in a screenplay that became Denis Villeneuve's highly acclaimed 'Sicario' (2015).
The following year, Sheridan racked up award nominations for David Mackenzieโ€™s 'Hell or High Water' (2016) starring Chris Pine and Ben Foster; before making his own directorial debut with 'Wind River' (2017).
The real game-changer, however, was when he co-created one of the most successful modern television franchises: 'Yellowstone.'
The five-season run, featuring Kevin Costner, has already spawned two spin-off shows, and has three more under development.
These results convinced Paramount to let him produce five more passion projects โ€” 'Mayor of Kingstown,' 'Tulsa King,' 'Special Ops: Lioness,' 'Lawmen: Bass Reeves,' and the forthcoming 'Landman.'
Today Taylor Sheridan is worth over $200 million and is the proud owner of the historic Texas Four Sixes Ranch, which he now rents out to Paramount to film some of his shows.

Our Story

JRs offers boarding, training, and conditioning. Situated on 20+ acres, JRs Equine Spa is located 4 miles from Highway 13 in Polk County, Pleasant Hope, Missouri. JRs Equine Spa is centrally located in the Midwest about 15 miles north of I-44, north of Springfield.

JRs features ten 12โ€™ x 12โ€™ stalls with runs conveniently connected to our 78โ€™ x 150โ€™ indoor riding area. Also conveniently connected to the indoor riding area is our wellness barn consisting of two 11โ€™ x 20โ€™ stalls with runs, office, tack shop, wash rack and bathroom.

Whether you are into jumping, dressage, reining, cutting, showing or just trail riding, weโ€™ve got a conditioning board package for your ViE.
