We have 11 new teams who started and have graduated from their Beginner Intro to Nose Work Classes on Wednesdays.

The dogs got to search through areas to find their yummy treats, learned to search independently and would come into class very excited to find their treats.

What an amazing year of nose work events ! Thank you to our competitors who want to have fun with their dogs, the judges who say “yes” to traveling and spending time in the Springfield area on the weekends, and the amazing team of volunteers who make the trials happen.

We’ve hosted four events (one UKC and three CPE, several C-WAGS leagues and a nosework fundraiser) in 2024.

Time to take a breather and start planning for 2025 🗓️

Pink powder paws to support our friend and trainer Kim Dykstra in her fight with breast cancer. No one fights alone breast cancer alone !!!

To everyone who participated in our powder fund raiser, I cannot thank you enough! I am still editing your photos, will hopefully be able to send them out late this weekend. I did however finish the Breast Cancer Awareness project and I am absolutely thrilled with how it turned out! Please share

The countdown is on - we will be getting very colorful this weekend at Pawsitive Training Zone with Powder Photos with Emily McVeigh Cinotto of BlueWolf photos.

We've had three more cancellations for the sessions this weekends....so this gives three more people chances to get their dog's power photos done.

We have a cancellation and have two remaining appointments for the "Powder Photo Sessions" scheduled for next Sunday, October 13th at 9 and 9:30 am.

This is a fundraiser for our friend and dog trainer Kimberly Dkystra, who is battling and winning breast cancer.

Being a part of the dog community is 100% amazing !

Yesterday PTZ hosted a Labor Day Nosework Fun Event as a fundraiser for our friend and trainer Kim Dykstra. It was such a great day with the dogs and their owners.

Huge thank you to everyone who came out and participated, our volunteers who made the searches happen and to Kinners on 97 for donating the use of their building.

I didn’t take as many photos as I wanted to because I was caught up in the wonderful moments but what an amazing day.

Good News -- We have a Beginner Nose Work Class scheduled to start on Wednesday, October 2nd. Class times are 4:30 pm and 6:30 pm. We'd love to have you join the fun!

Classes include Orientation (for the humans) and then 6 weeks of training with your dog. Dogs will be searching during the first session for yummy treats - learning how to search independently and tapping into their natural skills.

The cost is $120 for the session, which you will be paying @ Orientation.

PTZ is hosting a Nose Work Labor Day Fun Event on Monday, Sept 2nd.

This is a mock trial set up and we will be offering two levels of searches in Containers, Interiors, Exteriors and Vehicles.

This event is a fundraiser for PTZ Trainer and Friend in the dog sports community Kim Dykstra. 100% will be given to Kim to help with her expenses during this challenging time for her while conquering breast cancer.

The event is being held at PTZ which is located at 5965 IL-97, Pleasant Plains (only a few minutes west of Springfield). We will be doing Interiors and Container Searches inside Kinners on 97.

This morning was a great one for nose work vehicle searches and exterior searches for our teams who’ve been building their skills this month in Sunday morning classes.

We visited a nearby park and put their newly built skills to the test to see if they can search in a novel searches areas, and these teams knocked it out of the park - they did so amazing !!
