When pigeons are out here assisting cancer research that should be a clue that they are super smart! People often use "bird brain" as an insult but if you ask me, it's a compliment.
Would you consider it a compliment too?

Should I hide the bag with SEED written on it now?

Who here does the same?

It’s no surprise that pigeons are associated with the Greek goddess of beauty!
What type of pigeon do you think is especially stunning?

Among the incredible things pigeons can do is their ability to tell artwork apart and tell the artist based off the style of paintings. We were so impressed with this ability that we actually named two of our pigeons Picasso and Monet after this tidbit.
Tell me something about pigeons you find incredible.

Pigeons are incredibly intelligent and can tell time and understand spacial distances!
They are so smart and yet chronically underestimated by people.
Tell me what super smart thing your bird has done.

Hi everyone, Tiff here – thank you for joining us. We are so happy that you get to be part of our sanctuary family! If you don’t know already, I am the president and founder of Dreaming of a Chance Farm Animal Sanctuary right here in Pleasant Valley, NY. I would love to tell you a little bit about who we are, what we do, and how you can make a difference.
I myself am an animal lover who has been rescuing and rehabilitating animals in need for years on my family’s farm. I have dedicated my entire life towards helping animals in need and am currently working to become a farm animal veterinarian so I can do more. Working at a sanctuary and on my farm, I became aware of how many animals are out there in need of homes. My farm was contacted frequently to see if we could take in unwanted pets or help rescue animals. Over the years, my family and I adopted/rescued over 50 animals needing a home. Working at the sanctuary, I saw an opportunity to not only be able to help more animals in need, but also give back to the community while doing so. With the help of an insane amount of coffee and some fabulous people, we made this dream become a reality.
So what do we do you may ask? The answer is actually quite simple. We are the place that poultry that need a home end up at. People don’t realize how often birds get put in terrible situations. We have seen far too many cases of abuse and unwant and even more of neglect and abandonment situations. We seek to take in as many birds needing a home as our capacity allows and provide them with lifelong care and the rehabilitative means they often need to live their best life.
For the first few years, we want to remain poultry focused. As we grow and gain more support, we hope to be able to expand into rescuing other types of farm animals in need while still having a heavy poultry focus. We hope that you will continue with us on our journey of making a change one life at a time.
