Now for some backstory on my ol’ Bento buddy🥰:
♥ Bento is 12 years old now 🥹 and I’ve had him for 11 of those years.
♥ Bento is a Formosian Mountain Dog ( ). He was found at 6 months near a hillside village in Taiwan, shipped over to the US by plane to be rescued by
♥ He has always been a super shy and super nervous dog, a constant overthinker, and very attached to me since we got him.
♥ He is my first dog 🥹 and I chose him because he was so gentle even though he was terrified, so beautiful (especially when he was young and slim! 😂), and he’s from Taiwan like me!

Bento very much prefers nature and peace and quiet over the bustle of the city or loud sounds, but has actually opened up a lot in this past year with meeting new people and traveling around Oakland with me! He’ll even let some strangers pet him if they pass the vibe check! 🤨 Can’t teach an old dog new tricks? 🚫 I beg to differ! 🐶

✨Hello there!✨Lots of new faces here lately so I felt I should properly introduce myself! 😊 I’m Stephanie, the owner of Little Pup-up Shop! These are my dogs Bento the forever-skeptical Formosian Mountain Dog and Navi the overly-friendly chi-mix. 🐶🐶Feel free to ask me anything you’re curious about in the comments and I’ll do my best to answer!💖

✨Why did I start the Little Pup-up Shop?✨
I’ll be honest…during lockdown I did a *fair* amount of online shopping for my dogs (I’m not the only one right?…😅) and I found it really difficult to find the specific cute styles that I wanted for Navi and my puppy at the time .aussie.pup (Bento has a…different kind of style 😑) There are lots of amazing brands and artists out here but we really have to scour the internet to find those treasures!

I grew up in Cupertino surrounded by Taiwanese and Asian culture. As I moved further up the East Bay over the years and into Oakland, I felt like it was harder to find ways to connect with my culture. My dogs are like my kids so I love to see my culture represented through them too! So earlier this year I started hatching the idea of starting a local business that offers carefully-curated kawaii dog goods to make this aesthetic and culture more available to everyone!

A few months later this idea has really taken form thanks to all the support from YOU friends and the local community in Oakland and Pleasanton!🥰 ALL of the products we offer are created by Asian woman-owned businesses and I could not be more PROUD of this representation from businesses local to the Bay Area, across the country, and even from Canada!!!💪🏼💪🏼🙋🏻‍♀️

✨What did I do before becoming a full-time business owner?✨
I was a Product Designer working at startups and large tech companies for over a decade. 🙃 I transitioned into working at an amazing local nonprofit where I met some folks who were key in helping me envision what I wanted to bring into the world as an entrepreneur!
