Last up for Vet Tech Appreciation week is…
Odie!
Which is me! lol I’m in charge of social media for Town and Country and have been with the hospital for almost 9 years.
I can’t write about myself in the same way I do my team, so I will just tell you a few things about myself and my experience working here.
Town and Country has gone through many waves of change since I’ve worked here. I’ve been in the veterinary world for almost 15 years and this is the hospital I believe in the most. The culture and integrity of medicine is incomparable. I’m honored to work with the techs and doctors every day.
One of the things I appreciate most, is that we are a female dominate practice. All the doctors are moms. They understand that work life balance is important. Everyday I’m in awe of the doctors and techs who prove that you can not only be a great mom, but also a kick-ass (Sorry management) veterinary professional that leads with compassion and knowledge.
If you know me, you know that I lack a filter without big holes, so I will always be honest. There isn’t a hospital without faults and ours is no different. However, I can tell you, I walk into work everyday and I’m excited to be here. I love the team I work with and the clients and patients that we serve. I can tell you, we are honored you allow use to be a part of your pets health and wellbeing.
So to my fellow techs…I am honored to work beside you. I believe you are the best in the field. I see the compassion you have for our patients and the desire you have to do good. Thank you for holding me to a higher standard daily.

Miranda!
Miranda started with us back in 2020. She is an experienced tech that seeks new knowledge like no one else! She is so passionate about understanding all the information and we so appreciate that about her. She is a busy body and is always finding something to clean or organize when we are slow. She has a quirky personality and knows things that no one else does, it’s amazing!
Miranda we love you and are so happy you came back…now you can never leave us again!

Next up for Vet Tech Week is…
Danielle!!
Danielle (aka Barbie) came just when we needed her and was a breath of fresh air. Her tech skills are solid and training her to learn the Town and Country way was easy. Shortly after she started, our lead tech Jessica went on maternity leave. Danielle had proved herself to be responsible, mature and capable and was quickly given some of Jessica’s jobs while she was gone. She killed it and became a core part of the tech family. We love you Barbie!
Fun fact: She is our resident Manchester Mystery House nerd! Next time you’re in…ask her about it…she loves to be put on the spot! 😂😘

Next up for Tech week is….
Jessica!
Jessica has been with Town and Country for almost 10 years. She is the technician manager and safe to say she is the doctor’s right hand man. She remembers every test code, every patient and can easily manage 3 things at once. Her tech skills are unmatched. She makes things look easy, when in reality, she is just dialed in. She recently went to a conference and she came back fully inspired and she is looking into getting her VTS (veterinary technician specialist).
Jess, we believe you can do it and are in your corner! ❤️ Oh, and this IS your circus and we ARE your monkeys and we love you the most!

Next up for tech appreciation week is…Grace!
Many of you already know this, Grace first started with us as a ROP student from Amador. Now I’ll be honest with you, a few of us weren’t sure about this opinionated teenager. She came in very confidently and when one doctor mentioned in exam, “yeah, you’re not moving too good and may have arthritis,” Grace replied with, “well yeah, he is really old.” 😂
Fast forward many years later, she is now a Davis graduate and just one of the best humans we know. She has become an excellent technician, she is fully trained to perform blood draws, X-rays, ear cleanings….this list can go on and on. She also assists the surgery techs when needed.
We know your time with us is short, but we will always welcome you back! ❤️

Daniel (aka Chad) is our resident fear free certified tech. He has been known to snuggle aggressive cats and sooth biting dogs. He is always calm and brings that energy to all of his patients. You can always count on him for the best one liners too. Daniel has years of experience and his tech skills are top notch.

It’s 2024’s Veterinary Technician week!
We appreciate all of our techs, but we wanted to give these three, a special shout out today. 3 of our nurses are off to conference for continuing education starting tomorrow and these 3 will be holding down the fort while they are gone this week! Daniel, Danielle and Grace, you all are amazing and we appreciate and recognize this wouldn’t be possible without you! Thank you for coming to work with smiles, crazy mad skills and humor!
We will celebrate as a whole when we get back, but today…it’s all about you guys!

Oliver and Cheeto are ready to be adopted. They are currently 9 weeks old, have been dewormed and received their first round of shots.
We would love if these two went to the same home, however, we are willing to separate them for the right families!

Sometimes our patients need a hug and need to tell us all about it! Lizzy is that girl. She has opinions and is very much set in her ways. We love it! Our technician Daniel listened to every part of her story. ❤️
Fun fact: Her mom used to work here and left to attend Veterinary School. She has 1 year left! We miss her and can’t wait to see the good she does for the field!

It’s funny how an animal can come into your life when you weren’t looking and completely fill the void you didn’t know was there. ❤️

Weekend vibes are the BEST! . All of our boarders are enjoying the cooler weather and fall breeze. Can’t say we are mad about it either! . Happy Sunday (and fall back) Friends!

We love when we can just spoil our patients and pretend to be at the spa! Bodhi is a special guy and one of our favorite patients! He makes everything very easy, as you can see! 😂❤️ . Two fun facts! . 1) Grace is back! If you remember she was an ROP student that we trained and she became a valued team member and excellent tech. Hands on training is ALWAYS the best way to learn in this field! She won’t be with us long though. She is a recent UC DAVIS graduate and will be heading into her field soon! But we will keep her for as long as we can! . 2) Our tech Odie, who is doing the puppy massage, is also a massage therapist! She doesn’t practice as much, as life with her family has gotten busy, but she is always willing to put an elbow into a coworker’s back when needed! . Happy Tuesday Friends!

. Happy #nationaldogday everyone! . For a lot of us, the best memories we have include a dog. Your first dog as a kid is magical. You finally fooled your parents into thinking you would do “ALL THE WORK.” Little did they know, your intention was just to be best friends. You feed them the food you don’t like at the table and you try REALLY hard to let them eat your homework. These are the dogs that teach you how to grow up. . Then you get your first dog as an adult. This is the dog that always teaches you the most about life. What kind of friend you will be, how to put someone else’s needs in front of your own and even how to manage the deepest heart ache. They get you through that awkward stage of adulthood, where you at minimum, have 1 good friend. . Dogs simply are the purest part of life. They are always happy you come back after using the restroom, they are always ready to be a dinner date and they are happy to be the 70lbs blanket you never knew you needed. . . Town and Country Veterinary Olympics are here!! . When it comes to building an e-collar there is a certain amount of skill and finesse if you will…to making a perfect one. .
