This art piece was painted by Summer, a young girl who came from a very broken family situation and was living at a girls home at the time. Her safe place was one of the many organizations and programs that are supported by J Bar J Youth Services, the non-profit beneficiary of The Oregon High Desert Classics
J Bar J Youth Services has multiple programs addressing the the needs of youth in Central Oregon:

๐ค Cascade Youth & Family Center: A safe haven for young people in jeopardy. Providing runaway and homeless teens with safe, stable living conditions and support, along with providing human trafficking victims support for rebuilding their lives.
๐ค AT Project: helping human trafficking victims become survivors. A program working directly with victims to help them regain independence, safety, and stability to rebuild their lives.
๐ค Grandmaโs House: emergency and transitional shelter to homeless and/or abused pregnant girls, parenting young mothers, and young mothers choosing adoption for their child.
๐ค Kindred Connections: Program connecting families with needed support during a time of challenge: job loss, serious illness, homelessness, or other issues that complicate parenting.
๐ค Academy at Sisters: empowering at-risk girls to lead healthy lives. A therapeutic boarding school that utilized equine assisted psychotherapy as one of their therapy modalities.

Congratulations to Cindy Bohn of Heron Hill in Grantville, Pennsylvania on the purchase of the incredible Double Blind!
The fairytale of this amazing horse continues as Levi has travelled back in style โ๏ธ to Pennsylvania to Cindy Bohn who we originally purchased him from for Ava Lakey eight years ago.
In the eight years Double Blind has been a part of Crystal Image Farms he has won up and down the West Coast in International and National Derbies, Jr Hunters, A/O Hunters, and Performance Hunters with a major highlight including an International Derby win with Ava Lakey when she was only sixteen years old.
Our search for Levi was long and I am so glad the Lakey family trusted me fly out to see and purchase him without trying or seeing him themselves. It has been a wonderful journey with Levi who came to us as a young and quite unbroken horse to being the showstopper he is today. It was a true honor to have him in my program and he has been a major highlight of my career. We will miss him and his sweet personality dearly.
Thank you to Cindy Bohn for trusting us with Double Blind the last eight years and we couldnโt be happier with this outcome. We look forward to cheering him on as he continues his Derby career on the east coast with Cindyโs niece and clients until he is retired on her beautiful farm.
