🚨 Dog number 2! 🚨 Let’s give a warm DZK9 welcome to Sasha. Sasha comes to us all the way from the Colorado shelters, and will be joining us on a 4 week immersive board and train course to work on her severe separation anxiety from mom, resource guarding, jumping on guests and her family members, general obedience training, as well as testing her reactivity toward other dogs. We’re excited for her drop off on Monday!

2 new dogs to post! The 1st is a cute doodle named Max! He is a 11 month old golden doodle her to work on his general obedience manners! He is excited jumper and nervous pee-er. He also pulls really hard on leash and is so friendly he just wants to say hi to everyone! We are excited to be a part of his journey. Max will be joining us for a 2 week board and train course.

Good evening all! Max (a previous board and train, the Dachsund) had a couple of siblings named Lily and Ray. Lily is the white lab mix, and Ray is Max’s doppelgänger. Lol They’d gone through training previously with a different company but still had some behaviors that weren’t addressed as well as developed some fears of their training style. We are going to help them rebuild their confidence to have them enjoy training once again! Let’s give these doggos a warm welcome to the DZK9 family!

Hey all! This little sausage is Choncho. He came to us with a desire to learn a few cool new tricks to make life easier for his parents. We worked on some potty training, a strong place command, and some door boundaries! He did a 10 day board and train package and since it’s been a little while since our last post, I’ll share the rest of our recent graduates here tonight as well! Wish him luck on his continued success at home!

Remember Maggie? 😂 I wasn’t kidding when they said all is going well so far 🔥 So well in fact, they decided to send their second dog back from Dallas with me, Charlie for a 3 week board and train! We drove Charlie from Dallas and he kicked butt in the strange car he was in. Lol Charlie will be here shaping up his manners so that it doesn’t regress Maggie’s progress at home. He’s such a happy pup in his comfort zone, but when challenged with new things, he can struggle with confidence. We’ll be working on that so that the Wise Family will have two well behaved K9’s so that their son Carter will have a predictable home with dogs that he will want to be around. Thank you so much Wise family for your support and we won’t let you down!

When a client says “Fly”, we at DZK9 Academy say “How high”? Maggie has finally gone home to her family to provide the services she was trained on for their son. So far, really good reports on how great she’s doing at their son’s school. 🔥🔥🔥

We as a collective group, thought it best to give Maggie the best experience possible to set her up for success. That meant, taking Maggie through the process of boarding a flight and training her at 35,000 ft! The TSA process can be grueling and incredibly difficult due to the amount of distractions, the speed at which they require you to pass through the metal detectors, and the impulse control/independence to hold her sit while you walk through first. The pat down of her vest needs to be handled without her puppy brain thinking someone is petting her for funsies! No jumping allowed! lol

This is all before the actual flight even happens. So many things can challenge the service animal like the speed of the airplane taking off and landing, the sounds of the jet engines or brakes when coming to a stop, even the proximity of the other people next to you when sitting during the flight. Challenging her to ignore her neighbors while dealing with those stresses were handled easily thanks to her foundational training received before and it set her up for success. So many compliments from the flight attendants and passengers about how she is a legit service dog compared to what they’ve seen in the past in their flight experiences.

We took a total of 3 flights to ensure Maggie was up to the challenge and boy did she deliver. We literally delivered her to her parents in Dallas Texas, so needless to say, it doesnt matter how far you are, we can help all the way from the hard working little town of Pleasanton Tx.

You send your kid to college out of state, why not your dog for the best education money can buy! Positive progress is what we care about at the DogZilla K9 Academy, and we’ll go out of our way to make that happen!

Max is our most recent graduate from a 3 week course. We were extremely sad to say goodbye to him as my daughter and Max had a special connection. We wish the Watson family all the best and look forward to our next few lessons and group classes.

Say hello to Dakota! Dakota is a 2 yo Bully obtained from the streets and given a wonderful home. She doesn’t like other animals and will be here especially to work on her reactivity toward other dogs. She’s here on a 3 week course, so let’s give her a warm welcome to the DZK9 Family!

You’re not seeing double! This isn’t Luke! This is Sunday! Sunday is a sweeeeetheart 4yo Mix obtained off the street similar to Mr. Luke. She’ll be coming to us to work on separation anxiety, pulling hard on leash during walks, her dog reactivity, and work on her manners around kids. She’s got her dates locked in for December and we look forward to hosting her. Let give her a big welcome to the DZK9 family!

Good afternoon all. Meet Luke! Luke is a 6 1/2 mo old Boxer/pointer mix found off the street and given an amazing good home! Like many strays, they are in need of some home manners to be a buttoned up member of society! Lol one of the reasons he’s here is in the first pic, 😂 but a few other reasons are digging up the backyard, demand barking/attention seeking, (I mean who wouldn’t give in with how cute he is) 😂 We are getting Luke ready for a trip to Columbia where he will moving to with his family. Welcome Luke! We’ll see you here in a couple of weeks!

Good evening all! As promised, here are a few pics and an update of Clover! She is a 7 mo old Heeler here to work on her confidence, her reactivity to pretty much any distraction in public, and destroying items in the home. We will be stimulating that brain 🧠 of hers and show her how general obedience can be a great way to give her jobs to do instead of the undesirable behavior she exhibits. We will give this little trouble maker something to do with all that energy. 😊 Give this cutie a warm welcome to the DZK9 family!

Lots of new things always happening at DogZilla K9 Academy. I’m always looking at improvements for our lovable fur friends to have the best! Here’s a peak at our 6 months progress since beginning our brand new venture. Thank you all for your support as it’s been overwhelming and humbling. 1. Brand new signage! 2. Brand new SUV with Ruffland Transport crates and Rhino USA Ratchet straps. 3. Dedicated kennel room with Ruffland Crates, sound machine, industrial Dewalt fan for keeping cool and night lighting for comfortable overnight sleeping and storm noise control. 4. Brand New Dog Pacer Treadmill for confidence building and those rainy days when forced to stay in. 5. Brand new member addition to my family. A Belgian Mal named Rocket! 6. Merch! Stickers, poop bag dispensers, shirts, and baskets that will soon be available for purchase while your dog is staying with me for their boarding. COMING SOON: Bathing and Nails add on before a dog goes home. Get your dog trained and smelling fresh with trimmed cut nails for their return home.

We were so happy to host Remi, Doug, and Mocha in our Board and Stay option. Board and Stay is a great choice for keeping training fresh instead of doggy day care where obedience isn’t a priority! Current clients get a great rate of $50 per night. New potential clients who have not completed a training program can still do a do a Board and Stay, but at a $75 rate! Enjoy these photos!

Almost forgot to post this cute little guy doing a board and stay while his parents are on vacation! This is Maverick!

Ralphy spent a couple of nights with us this week and we had to take advantage of the time to work on his reactivity to kids! What better way to do that than to have him do commands like he would for an adult and going for a walk, which feels natural and normal to dogs! That helps set him at ease.
