Beau and his mom have been working very hard to get him comfortable at the Vet since early summer.

They have been doing Victory Visits for several months. When he started Victory Visits with Katelyn she couldn't even touch him, but now she can hold him, pet him, and do a technician exam with ease.
It just goes to show you how much desensitization, positive reinforcement training, the right high value treat reward (hotdogs for Beau) and regular visits can help reduce fear, anxiety, and stress at the veterinary clinic

AMAZING work, Dan and Ares!

**Media Release**

On 09/25/24 at approximately 1:28 pm, the Stevens Point Police Department contacted Security Officer Daniel Wachowiak, and his K-9 partner Ares with Sentry Insurance, asking for their assistance in looking for a firearm that was used in the commission of a crime near Songbird Ave. on 09/24/24.

Security Officer Wachowiak and Ares immediately agreed to assist and were requested to search a wooded area on the east side of Stevens Point. At approximately 2:30 pm Ares indicated on an area in the woods, where Detectives were able to locate a loaded revolver, which was on the ground under several tall fern plants. This revolver is believed to have been used in the commission of a felony the day prior.

K-9 Ares is a dual-purpose fi****ms detection dog and has been working for Sentry with its handler, Security Officer Daniel Wachowiak, since 2021 when the program was created. Ares and Wachowiak graduated from Von Liche kennels in 2021.

The Stevens Point Police Department would like to extend a HUGE thank you to Sentry for allowing us the use of K-9 Ares and Wachowiak. Without them we likely would never have found the firearm.
