A recent Victory Visit patient at our clinic highlights the power of fear-free, low-stress veterinary care combined with dedicated at-home behavior training.
When Sorcha first came in, vet visits were stressful and scary for him but through consistent training focused on desensitization and positive reinforcement, Emily and Sorcha’s owner helped build confidence and comfort. At the latest exam, Sorcha stayed calm and cooperative, thanks to the hard work at home and our team’s fear-free approach. This success shows that with teamwork between owners and veterinary staff, even anxious pets can overcome their fears, making vet visits a positive experience. If your pet struggles with stress at the vet, don’t lose hope—consistent training and a gentle approach can make all the difference!

🐾 Attention Pet Owners: Protect Your Furry Friends This Holiday Season! 🍫🎄

The holidays bring joy, treats, and celebrations, but they also come with hidden dangers for our pets. Did you know that chocolate is highly toxic to dogs and cats? While we may indulge in festive desserts, even small amounts of chocolate can cause serious health issues for our furry companions.

🚫 Why is chocolate dangerous for pets?
Chocolate contains theobromine and caffeine, which are toxic to animals. Dark chocolate and baking chocolate are especially hazardous due to their higher theobromine levels.

🐶 Signs of chocolate poisoning in pets include:

Vomiting or diarrhea
Rapid breathing or increased heart rate
Restlessness or hyperactivity
Seizures in severe cases
🎁 Tips to keep your pets safe:
1️⃣ Keep all chocolate treats, candy, and baked goods out of reach (including "wrapped" gifts under the tree!)..
2️⃣ Educate your family and guests about the risks of feeding pets "human treats."
3️⃣ Dispose of wrappers and packaging immediately to avoid curious noses digging in.
4️⃣ Have your vet's contact information handy in case of emergencies.

Let’s make the holidays happy and safe for everyone, including our beloved pets. Spread the word to help protect them! 🐕🐾❤️

Have a safe and joyful holiday season! 🌟

Duke below would like for everyone to enjoy their meals today and to be cautious with pets around! Not all the foods we enjoy are safe for them. Be careful with your furry friends this holiday and we hope everyone has a safe time!🐾

Beau and his mom have been working very hard to get him comfortable at the Vet since early summer.

They have been doing Victory Visits for several months. When he started Victory Visits with Katelyn she couldn't even touch him, but now she can hold him, pet him, and do a technician exam with ease.
It just goes to show you how much desensitization, positive reinforcement training, the right high value treat reward (hotdogs for Beau) and regular visits can help reduce fear, anxiety, and stress at the veterinary clinic
