Warmth4Ferals

Warmth4Ferals We have since expanded into both rescue and spay/neuter assistance.

Warmth4Ferals was created to help strays, community & feral colonies keep warm during winter months in Minnesota by providing warming shelters, free of charge to anyone caring for them.

A week ago I had posted about a cat in need of rescue and got a few pledges for rescue who would take him.

I was able to get him into a vet, while he is FELV/FIP negative thankfully... he does have horrible mites, is under weight and his mouth is awful. No wonder he is so cranky and mad. We tried taking a few pics of his mouth to show the condition but hard without some cooperation. He has 2 fractured teeth, 1 broken, small ulcers and awfully painful gums from infection and gingivitis.(have to zoom in to see the small ulcers and gum line, etc.) This poor boy.

I had the rest treated, he is now fully vax. I also brought home antibiotics and buprenorphine for pain, but isn't easy to administer. He is very sensitive anywhere near his mouth. He is now on a soft food only diet as well.

A dental with 3 extractions will run btwn $450 to $700 on the very high side. We desperately need some help with this.

I'll be having this done at Litchfield Pet Clinic in Litchfield, as they are doing it at a reduced cost for us. He will also be neutered, but that is covered.

People can call the clinic at 320-693-6961 directly if you'd like to help or Venmo directly to Warmth4Ferals.

He will be under Warmth4Ferals/Lynn Gates, cats name Tuxie.

Thank you my fellow rescuers medical helpers.

HOPE FOR WILLA- Keep your fingers crossed for Willa today. She has a 2nd Meet & Greet with a potential adopter who seems to really want her and isn't bothered by some of her lingering unfavorable behaviors. Willa was less than 24 hours away from becoming a bait cat when we stepped in and took her into our rescue.

Willa has come a long way in recovering from her past and is a such a sweet girl now, in spite of a few behaviors we hope will completely disappear after she settles in and builds trust with adopter.

We are so grateful her potential adopter is looking at her as she is a very difficult adoption. If he continues with the adoption, home check next and Willa could be in a wonderful, forever home this weekend. ❤🐈‍⬛

UPDATE ON SENIOR RESCUE LAB SADIE: We are so sad to announce that we had to make the very hard decision to help this sweet girl Sadie cross over the Rainbow Bridge yesterday afternoon.

She was surrounded by her rescuers and crossing over with so much love. To have put a10 to 12 year old pup through a very difficult surgery with a long and uncomfortable recovery seemed we wouldn't be doing best by her and odds were not in her favor.

We all sincerely are beyond grateful for Dr. Ames at Banfield Vet Clinic for making time to help Sadie cross over. Such love and care were given to Sadie by Dr. Ames and the staff there.

We are forever grateful to her, to Brad, Sadie's rescuer who found her running along Hwy. 55, to Deb and to Hannah who gave Sadie the most loving and beautiful last 2 weeks of her life. If Sadie knew anything she knew nothing but love in her last days.

We would also like to thank our amazing group, Neighbors of Plymouth members who all pulled together and donated to help with Sadie's medical care.

Please consider Warmth4Ferals on this cold and snowy Giving Tuesday.

Many more materials for warming shelters are needed and ferals/abandoned/strays in foster that need our support while they are being socialized, fully vetted and looking for their furever loving permanent inside homes.

Warmth4Ferals is solely reliant on their donors.
(Meet some of our socialized and in process kitties below).

We are so grateful for the support we have gotten form many amazing donors. ❤

The main danger of plastic bowls is that they can harbor dangerous bacteria.

Plastic is porous so it can absorb microscope organisms like bacteria. Bacteria thrive in warm, moist environments, and it's nearly impossible to get rid of these bacteria since they're hidden within the plastic.

Even washing your pet's plastic bowl in hot water every day may not be enough to keep them away.

Share this with a pet owner who still uses plastic bowls!

We are currently working on building shelters for two colonies. One site alone is 30+cats.

Catty Shacks warming shelters can make all the difference for a cat living outdoors.

We are in great need of donations and supplies in order to meet these needs. Straw (not hay), all weather duct tape and bricks are the top 3 most urgent items needed. Hard coolers and Styrofoam containers are essential as well.

We have also had numerous requests for shelters for stray(s) by homeowners wanting to help them.

It is our hope to build and distrbute as many as 500 shelters this year (shelters are no cost to anyone receiving one).

We truly appreciate all of the support we have had and have already received some supplies by our wonderful donors and want to thank you.

Our Amazon wishlist link is below along with our Venmo information.

Thank you again, we couldn't do our work without you!! 🐾🐈‍⬛🐈🐾

WARMTH4FERALS WARMING SHELTERS - SHELTER MAKING SUPPLIES DESPERATELY NEEDED.

Hello everyone! It is that time of year again (and behind due to health issues) to get warming shelters out to cats at risk who have been forced to live outdoors = strays/ferals/dump-offs/colonies. We provide shelters to keep them warm and safe until they can be safely live trapped, altered and into rescue.
We are currently in need of hard coolers and Styrofoam boxes that we convert into warm shelters for all cats outdoors. We distribute boxes completed, with instructions and at NO CHARGE., of course donations are always appreciated, but absolutely not expected.

SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR MAKING SHELTERS:

☞HARD COOLERS and/or STYROFOAM CONTAINERS - (Minimum size is approx. 16" wide x 12" high and 12" deep) In reasonable and cleanish condition. Please refrain from donating dilapidated or dirty containers and any containers that held chemicals of any kind. We cannot use boxes that are not large enough for a cat to comfortably turn around and stand up in, Styrofoam that have significant gashes, any holes, no lid, etc.

☞DUCT TAPE HEAVY DUTY - We use a TON of tape and is our biggest need. Gorilla All weather is best, but any heavy duty is fine.

☞STRAW - clean please. Must be STRAW, NOT HAY. hay absorbs moisture and can cause hypothermia/death. Hay also can get moldy. Must be clean and free of any burrs, unused if possible.

☞BRICKS OR PATIO SQUARES - used as weights inside and on top of shelters.

☞AMAZON OR OTHER PLASTIC MAILING ENVELOPES - used and large enough to fit 1-2 bricks in. This keeps moisture out and insulates against cold temperature or moisture absorption.

☞BAGS OF DRY CAT FOOD - is always welcome we distribute to stray/feral colonies. The larger bag, the better, but we are thankful for any bags (unopened). *We are currently working on a 30+ feral colony in Apple Valley where food is greatly needed as well as a few other sites.

☞☞ If you would like to donate any items, please use our Amazon Wish List by clicking on link below. You can also drop any items off at Rockin Nutrition 4408 Nathan Lane in Plymouth off of Rockford Road and Nathan Lane, across from Cub.
Rockin Nutrition Hours are: M, T, Th & F 7 to 3, Wednesday 10 to 5.30 pm and Saturday 10-1. Closed Sundays.
Please message Warmth4Ferals or me directly for an alternate drop off location in Plymouth if needed.

We cannot thank you enough for the support all in the community have shown us over the last two years, please know how grateful we are and know we could NOT do this without you!

>>> I would also like to thank Kelli Ogg Olson, owner of Rockin Nutrition for offering her store as a drop off site and a place we will be holding our Shelter Making event on Sunday, Nov. 13th, volunteers needed. Kelli is always the first to offer up help anytime for fundraisers, blanket drives, etc. Kelli, literally ROCKS!! (PS - grab a wonderful healthy Tea or Smoothie while dropping your items off, you will be glad you did!

Meet Piper, she is about 1 yr old and was trapped at a Mobile home park in Chaska about 4 months ago.

She has been vetted and will be spayed as soon as she has put on a little more weight. Sadly she had 2 litters, only one survived for a short time of her last litter.

She warmed up very quickly to humans and is the sweetest little girl. She loves to cuddle and lets me know everyday how grateful she is to be warm, fed and loved.

She loves to play, does fine with our dog and other fosters and personal cats. She would do very well with a younger cat who enjoys playing.

If you are interested in giving this sweet girl a permanent home, please message us.

Adoption application, home check and small adoption fee are required.

Please help us with medical care for Baby Kaelen. See his story below.❤❤

Meet Niko, who is about 5 months old and our newest little rescue from a small stray/feral community of cats in Golden Valley. Niko is getting his first vetting (exam, shots, worming and SnapTest) and is in surprisingly good health for his situation. Thank you Doc Peterson for checking this boy out.

Niko will soon be neutered and up for adoption. He is such a sweet boy. He loves attention and loves to kiss. ❤

Adopted! Two very special rescues, Wayne and Garth. Thank you Anne for loving these two sweet boys! ❤
