We are back on social media! For the first post back we only thought it would be right to introduce you to the hospital's new furry friend Bear! Bear was brought into our clinic by Standish Humane Society after spending a few years on the streets of Carver. While in our care our staff fell in love with him instantly and decided he should stick around for āobservationā- after the first week we knew he wasnāt leaving! You will find Bear poking his head out of treatment, meowing down the halls and greeting you at the front while politely asking for head scratches. You may notice Bear has an odd gait while walking, x-rays revealed severe arthritis of his hind which make us think he is about 10-15 years old. Be sure to come in and say hi when you come in and stock up on supplies from our boutique!

ADOPTED! FEATURED CATS: Memphis (tabby) and Ganache (black and white) are a bonded duo about a year old. They want to be best friends for life! They likely never had a home and were left to fend for themselves once they were weaned. They had human friends who fed them, but they were not cats who could be pets without first being socialized. They have very sweet temperaments and great potential as pets so Standish intensely socialized them for quite some time.They are now ready to move on to their forever home.
They love to cuddle and snuggle with each other. They are very food motivated and would love to sit by you especially if they think snacks are in the offing. They are very playful, so don't wave a toy unless you want them to come running for a play session.
They are still a bit hand shy and fearful of loud noises, so a quiet home would be best for them. Soon they will settle in at their new home, and with a little love and understanding, they will be fantastic pets. These three 1.5 week old, unopened eyes, babies spent the day with usš©š»! They were found without their mother- if they werenāt found they would not have made it. Kittens should stay with their mothers for approximately 8 or more weeks. Kittens this young are so adorable but require a lot of work as far as bottle feeding and stimulation to express themselves. The first time we met Cara a few months ago her X-rays showed progressive bone cancer that had overtaken her front right limb. She unfortunately needed to have it amputated. Dr. Kelley performed the surgery a couple weeks ago and now Cara is back for her re-check and look how amazing she is doingšŗ! This kitty is named Lucky and it sure fits his story! He was found in one of our clients backyard by there Labrador retriever! Thank goodness because this kitty wouldn't of made it without the help of his now new humans! He was very sick, cold, and not eating. He has been in and out of the clinic getting all the love and care in the world and he is feeling great, and ready for his new life. #welovelucky

Today we had a kitten come in with some itchy ears. Not only were the ears itchy but, he had some unwanted visitors inside. Cats that are afflicted with ear mites will typically scratch at the ears excessively and shake their heads, even pulling out their own hair and drawing blood as they scratch.
Miss Scarlett went to live at her new home on Saturday. Although we are VERY happy for her, we miss her terribly. Here she is playing at the Cat Clinic before her big move.
