The winter solstice occurs when either of Earth's poles reaches its maximum tilt away from the Sun. This happens twice yearly, once in each hemisphere. ❄️

What this means for us: The shortest day of the year is over as of midnight tonight, and we start gaining daylight back!This means more time in the day for napping in the sun for our house kitties and longer walks for our pups.

❗️❗️LOST DOG ❗️❗️

Please be on the look out for this precious baby. This morning a client’s fur baby ran out on the parking lot north of Oak Rd and continued east of Bowman's Tin Shop. Tiny Dog is a 2 year old miniature Australian Shepherd with no microchip or tags on her collar but she should be dragging a leash. Please contact us at
574-936-3344 if you see her. We are all worried about her!

Take your dog on scenic hikes through wooded trails or near lakes to enjoy the fall foliage together. A tired dog is a happy dog, and hiking provides physical and mental stimulation that enriches your dog's health. 😍

Just be sure to keep your pet on a leash where required.

We will be closed on Thanksgiving Day to be with our friends and families but we are open on Friday from 7:30-5:00 as usual. We will be doing our quarterly inventory count in the afternoon, and ask that if you are planning to pick up food or prevention please let us know you are coming. If you have prescription medication waiting for you, it would help us out if you could come pick it up before Friday if possible. Thank you for your understanding!

Rake up a pile of leaves in your yard or at a local park and let your dog play and jump in the leaves. It's a fun and interactive activity for dogs, and cats love chasing leaves as they blow in the wind. 🍁🍃

Explore nature trails or nearby forests with your pet, enjoying the fall sights, sounds, and smells. Even cats and ferrets who are accustomed to harnesses enjoy the wild smells. Again, parasite protection is a must when enjoying the outdoors!

If your dog enjoys the company of other dogs, visit dog parks and let your dog socialize and play with other dogs. The cooler weather can make for more comfortable outings. Enjoy watching your furbaby rummaging through piled up leaves and chasing squirrels up bare trees. 🙌

Plan a pet-friendly camping trip where your fur baby can enjoy the great outdoors and explore nature with you, but make sure your little one is protected from parasites and is vaccinated! 🏕
