On February 13th, 2024, I went to The BLM holding facility in Ewing, Il, and brought home a 2-year-old, chestnut Mustang filly. I'll be super honest... I had my eye on a big grey gelding. I'm not really sure what drew me to Ember and made me lose interest in the gelding, but she was like a magnet and I was drawn to her. Just a shaggy, plain-jane red filly who was caked in mud and out running with a bunch of other young fillies. I must have walked the rows of pens filled with mustangs 100 times, but I just kept goin back to her. She was the one and I wasn't leavin without her! I'm so glad I didn't! I have NEVER met another filly who was so willing and SMART! And can we talk about how PRETTY she is?!?! She has come such a long way from being an untouched, wild horse in a holding pen, to the sweet, attention seeking, smart mare that she is just 5 months later. God surely blessed me with this little girl! It has been an absolute joy watching her grow and transform the way she has. I couldnt be happier with my decision to chase a long-time dream and adopt a mustang ❤️
