Willowbrooke Farm in Plymouth, MI will be hosting a few dressage schooling shows this winter. Please call/text (313-938-9221) for stalls (limited) entries close 10 days before the date of the show. We have 2 large indoor arenas - 1 to show in & the other for warm up. Class list/entries will be available on our website - Willowbrooke-farm.com after Sept 1.
Show dates are November 9, February 1 & March 1.

Willowbrooke Farm is located in Plymouth, Michigan, and is owned and operated by Jennifer Blades. Jennifer has many years of experience in horse training and riding in Hunter Jumper and Dressage both locally and in Florida, and is currently the Equestrian Coach for the University of Michigan

Willowbrooke Farm in Plymouth, MI will be hosting our annual winter series of hunter jumper shows. Please call/text (313-938-9221) to reserve stalls which are limited. We tend to sell out quickly and We must have a ck to hold your stalls. You can cancel without penalty until 15 days prior to show.
There will be 8 shows in the series & you must do 5 to be eligible for series awards. We will have a medal finals at the April show. You just need to place in the top 4 of your medal class at the other shows to be eligible.

Dates are September 29, October 26, November 16, December 21, January 18, February 22, March 29, April TBA

Willowbrooke Farm clients - if you signed up for the clinic on August 16 and 17th and you were on the waitlist, everybody is now getting in.
Friday we will go from 1pm- 7:30 PM and Saturday will be 9:30 AM to 4pm. If you aren’t going to do it or there is a time you absolutely cannot make please let me know ASAP so I can work on groups & times.

I have some clients moving to Weston, FL - just west of Ft. Lauderdale in a month & looking for a place to board/train out of and show for 13 yr old daughter who currently does the 2’6 hunters/eq. Want to be in a program but not totally full service because they like to play with their own horses. Bonus if you have some lesson horses for extra lessons & mother rides some. Very nice hands on people. Suggestions of barns in the area please! Thank you!

Willowbrooke Farm will be having our annual IEA team meeting on Monday, July 15, 2024 at 6pm in the observation room plus a used clothes sale before & after so if you have anything to sell please bring it with you.
It is for 4th -12th grades Walk-trot level on up. Let myself or Nicole Chiesa Zoidis know if you have more questions. There have been some changes in how IEA sets things up so we need to be signed up a bit earlier this year (early August) than we have previously done to be able to show in the beginning of September. Anyone who currently rides at Willowbrooke is welcome to join us

WE ARE HIRING!
FULL TIME VETERINARIAN ASSISTANT/LVT

FWEH focuses on the specialized care of horses from cutting edge sports medicine treatments to the basic needs and care required for optimal horse health. We travel day to day on farm calls from Midland area down to Ann Arbor and over to the east in areas like Metamora and Romeo. We offer hospitalization, regenerative therapies, and certain injury/illness rehab. We have a surgery team that is put together throughout the year operating at our facility as well.

An ideal candidate has experience and comfort handling horses for exams and treatments, including jogging for flexions and lunging, preparing patients for sterile procedures, and managing inventory.

An understanding in work hour flexibility is required. Some days can be quick and easy and some can be long and unpredictable. We schedule our days according to the territory we are working in, but always have possibilities for emergencies to go to or take care of at the hospital.

Lots of things happening around the farm this week.
We are putting up a gazebo out in back by the outdoor ring for a covered area for spectators to watch. It was nicely sponsored by our great clients as part of a farm Christmas present. Construction is finally under way!
We also are in the process of putting in a new outdoor wash rack. It will help with having less traffic in the barn in good weather & is off a different waterline so we should have better water pressure.
We have also been working on mowing the pastures down to see the fence lines better & help keep the bugs down a bit when the grass isn’t so tall (4-5’ in some places!). Deceiver was busy “helping”. 😂
Can’t wait for the projects to be finished!

Willowbrooke clients - we are pleased to announce we will be having a clinic on Friday, August 16 (afternoon/evening) & Saturday, August 17, 2024 with Scott Alder. He is a well respected trainer, USEF large R judge & course designer. He brings lots of experience from many different angles. Most of you have ridden his courses & shown under him at some point.

Anyone at the crosspoles level & above is welcome. School horses can be used. There is a sign up list on the bulletin board. You need to ride both days to get the most out of it.

As we wrapped up our winter series of Hunter Jumper schooling shows, I want to thank everybody that helped us put them on and attended for a great season. 🎉🐴🥇🏆
Also, on another note about how wonderful our horseshow community is - our food vendor, Dave and Deb have had a rough year with some medical problems for Deb so several of the barns made and donated raffle baskets along with the Farm donating warm up class fees to help them out. A huge, thank you to Oakenshield, Reynolds Riding Academy and the Willowbrooke parents, especially Nicole for organizing and running the raffle baskets. 👏👏Our next series will start in October and run through April. 

We will be having a fun show on Saturday, April 27 featuring a Hunter Derby at 2’-3’3 heights and some fun jumper classes in the afternoon, including a gambler’s choice - also at 2’-3’3 with some fun new jumps. Ready for our Willowbrooke Farm series finals! Who will be our Medal finals & division champions? Come visit & find out.
Also a good friend of ours (food vendor) - Dave’s wife, Deb has had some health problems in the last year & we want to help support them by donating the warm up class fees & having some raffle baskets available.
