Happy National Veterinary Technician week! Every year, we get the opportunity to celebrate and thank our amazing staff. Being a Veterinary Technician is not an easy job and those that do it consider it a calling. Unless you have had the opportunity to work in a veterinary hospital, it's hard to even comprehend how amazing Veterinary Technicians truly are.

Here's a few things our Veterinary Technicians have done just this week: assisted a family with making the decision to say goodbye to their pet, drew a blood sample on a cat that wanted to bite them, triaged a sick patient that needed to come in right away, placed an IV catheter, discussed potty training with a new puppy owner, administered vaccines, performed ophthalmic diagnostics, made clay paw prints of a beloved patient that passed away, took dental radiographs, performed emergency life-saving measures on a trauma patient, discussed behavior issues and separation anxiety with a pet owner, administered and monitored anesthesia on surgery patients, read microscopic cytology, placed a urinary catheter, discussed fearful behavior in a dog and recommended medication to make the visit less stressful, the list could go on and on. The amazing thing is that they do all of these things every day and often simultaneously.

Veterinary Technicians are some of the most skilled and compassionate people I know. They are the true heart and soul of every veterinary hospital. I would trust each these ladies with my furry family and I cannot thank them enough.

Please give Molly, Willow, Mariah, Anna and Laurie a shout out this week. You guys are amazing!

Each year in October, we get a chance to recognize and celebrate incredible Veterinary Technicians. We are so blessed to work with Molly, April and Bekah, three of the most professional and talented people in veterinary medicine. This year we are especially grateful for all of the hours and hard work they've put in providing exceptional care to our furry friends. Veterinary hospitals around the country are busy and overwhelmed because of the number of new pets adopted during COVID. These ladies have managed to continue treating each and every patient with compassion and patience while juggling all of the stress of the pandemic. Please give these ladies a shout out. They truly deserve it. HAPPY NATIONAL VETERINARY TECHNICIAN WEEK!

They’re back! We’ve heard rumors about ticks being out but this is the first tick of the season for us. Fortunately for our furry friend today, this tick is an American Dog Tick and not a Deer Tick that can spread Lyme disease. If you aren’t using tick prevention, get started today!

Nom Nom Nom

A few months ago we introduced Oliver, a cat who was rescued after suffering severe frostbite of his ears, tail and back feet. He is still in recovery and getting regular bandage changes. He will be looking for a new home once he is completely healed. For now, please enjoy watching him enjoy a little treat while he has a bandage change. "nom, nom, nom".
