Lily, a 9 year old Lhasa Apso, came to us after her elderly owner could no longer care for her. She sometimes needs a bit of time to warm up to people but gets along very well with our other small dogs. Lily has become much more comfortable with our volunteers and likes to go on short walks with them. The sooner Lily finds a new owner to love and bond with the better since she knows staying at the kennel is not the same as being in a nice, warm home. Lily is fully vaccinated and spayed. There are a lot of different reasons for your dog's behaviour, intentional vindictiveness or naughtiness isn't one of them.

All behaviours have a function. They serve the individual in some way. Behaviours are the observable actions of any number of underlying environmental and internal processes. Assumptions are not only unhelpful, they are potentially damaging and neglect to address your dogs' reality.

Step back and take a moment to observe what your dog is telling you. If you need help, reach out to a certified and qualified professional.

Kills me inside that this dog still has nowhere to go. If you do not have other pets or children, I do encourage you to foster.
Fostering is not for everyone but when you can save a dogs life and you know that you are the reason for them living and breathing, it does make a difference. ♥️
Brady is 8 years young. He still has a lot of life left to give someone and his owner unfortunately is not coming home. 😩
We really just need someone to give this senior dog a home. His life is about to be turned upside down and he’s going to need someone to mend his broken heart.
Again. NO OTHER PETS OR KIDS.

Handsome !

Link came to the shelter several weeks ago and has been in a foster home that loves him. He’s a yellow lab mix, about 3 years old, weighing 50 lbs who enjoys playing with most other dogs. In the past, he lived with another dog and is currently living with a dog and two toddlers. Link is vaccinated, microchipped and will be neutered by the time you read this. Link is a happy dog that wants to find his forever home. If you think you might be that forever home, please call 508-548-7742 to meet him.
