While it might not sound like much, each dog we move means another scared, displaced pet in LA has a chance to find safety and care.
These dogs aren’t directly displaced by the fires—they’re shelter dogs currently waiting for homes. By moving them out of overcrowded shelters, we’re making room for pets affected by the wildfires to reunite with their families.

Rescue doesn’t stop on holidays. Fortunately, Sweety’s Holiday Wish came true! She was an urgent dog at one of our local rescue partners. HAPPY TAILS ADOPTION UPDATE.
We picked up Tiki on August 17. She was about 4 months old and had just completed a journey from Texas. She quickly settled into another 4 hour trip to our home in Lutsen. Within a day, she and our 2 year old pup were playing and sharing a bed. Tiki has the sweetest disposition of any dog I have met. She and her sister do get into fits but generally Tiki prefers to cuddle. Now that she is getting bigger (8 months old and just under 30 lbs) she struggles to fit on my lap in my office chair but that doesn't keep her from trying. Now that we have snow, we have put on our snow shoes to pack down paths in the yard as Tiki and Daisy love to chase each other. We are very grateful to the rescue teams who brought Tiki to us.
In 7 years, we've rescued over 5,000 pets in need. We desperately need your help to continue saving more. I had the privilege of fostering a beautiful soul through The Rescue Crew. When she first came to us, she was in rough shape, with severe mange that had left her uncomfortable and vulnerable. Despite everything, she was nothing short of an angel. She somehow knew we were there to help her, quietly and patiently allowing us to bathe her and apply ointments to soothe her skin. Every day, she showed her resilience and gentle spirit.
Thanks to donations and support, we were able to give her the medical care and love she needed to heal. Today, she’s thriving in her forever home, complete with her own children to snuggle with and a family to go camping with—living the life she deserves.

How Zeda Found a Second Chance with The Rescue Crew.

Zeda’s journey has been anything but ordinary. She’s a 2-year-old Shepherd mix who’s already endured more than most dogs her age. But, we're working to turn her story into one of hope and renewal.
Zeda first arrived at Minneapolis Animal Care and Control (MACC) as a stray in October 2023. She was adopted in November, but her new life took an unexpected turn when a tragic series of events unfolded. Her adopter was involved in a devastating car accident that left them paralyzed.
Zeda escaped the crash with minor injuries but found herself back at MACC when her adopter’s family was unable to care for her. Despite her challenges, Zeda’s time at the shelter revealed a dog brimming with potential. Volunteers and staff quickly fell in love with her sweet and goofy personality.
But Zeda’s time was running out. She faced a looming deadline at MACC: without rescue intervention, she would be euthanized on November 26.
That’s where The Rescue Crew stepped in. Thanks to your advocacy, support, and pledges, Zeda was saved. Her future is now filled with hope, but her journey isn’t over. Zeda needs continued care and training. Plus, there are many more dogs in need just like Zeda at our local shelters.
