A wonderful adoption update that is sure to warm your heart on this chilly day. We are so incredibly happy for Daisy ( fka Grace ) and her amazing family! ❤️

“Daisy joined our family on Aug 18th. It has been 6 years since our last pup passed and we were unsure with our busy schedules if we would have time for a furry friend. I surprised my family with fostering Ms. Daisy. It didn’t take all of a few hours to know Daisy was going to be the perfect dog for us.

We knew very minimal about Daisy. She was a stray found in Texas, and was at least 4 years old. She was very shy and timid at first. Very apprehensive of men. Wasn’t able to do steps initially. She bonded instantly to our daughter.

We found out our Daisy Mae is 💯 standard poodle and at least 6 years old. She is the absolute sweetest, most gentle, and chill little lady. We feel so blessed that our paths crossed with the Rescue Crew and my sister in law telling me about Daisy needing a foster. She is the PERFECT addition to our family. We plan to spoil her and give her the life she deserves ♥️

Hi! My name is Scoops. I’m a 3 year old bulldog who was found as a stray and brought to Animal Control. I didn’t love being in the shelter, so luckily I was able to join The Rescue Crew and live in a house!

I am very goofy and LOVE all the toys. Bones/stuffed animals/ropes…you name it, I love it! I will play tug with you, or play fetch, though I don’t always drop it – it’s fun to fetch but only sometimes – sometimes it’s more fun to play tug, or I will throw the toy for myself to play with. I love chewing on nummy bones too!

I don’t love my crate but after a little protesting I will settle down and take a snooze in it. I know to do my potty business outside, but I need you to bring me out on a schedule because I’m not the best at alerting when I need to go! But if you bring me out every few hours I’m totally good and won’t have any accidents (I sleep all night no problem with no need to go out).

I live with cats and dogs right now. The cats I really want to chase/play with so I should go to a home with dog-savvy cats or no cats at all though I am pretty easily re-directed with a toy or treat. I also live with some dogs here – I get along fabulously with the dogs my size and we love playing all sorts of games but I’m pretty nervous around the dog bigger than me so I would do best with dogs that are submissive and/or are my own size with a slow introduction! If you don’t have any other animals, that’s okay too – I’d love to be your one and only and get all the toys and attention.

After I play with all the toys I love getting petted, I will roll over so you can rub my belly – belly rubs are the best! I really want a home with people around a lot to play with me and give me all the love! I’m a little stubborn at times (it’s my genetics don’t blame me), but I make up for it with my hilarious antics and adorable face. Foster mom tells me all the time how cute I am and how sweet I am and she can’t wait for me to find my own family to continue to learn all about this good life with, is that family you?!

Hi, my name is Bella! I’m a sweet, smart, and affectionate little girl who’s ready to fill your home with love and joy. I’m both house-trained and crate-trained, so I’m already off to a great start as the perfect companion.

I get along well with other small dogs, but I can be a little nervous around larger ones since I haven’t met many yet. As for cats, I’m still figuring them out—I tend to bark when I see the ones wandering near my foster home.

I walk beautifully on a leash and enjoy every stroll with my humans. I absolutely adore meeting people and am wonderful with children, making me a great fit for a family. My foster mom tells me every day that I’m perfect, and I think she might be right!

Hi my name is Freddie Meowcury and I have a little story to tell you about the history of my family. We may look a little different, but trust me, what you see are beauty marks. Thats what my foster mom tells us anyway.

We came into rescue when we were just tiny tots. Our eyes were not yet open, and we endoured a terrible experience, that literally scarred us for life.

A family decided to burn a brush pile, like many do, and had no idea my mom and siblings lay quietly in that brush pile. They covered it with an igniter fluid, and lit it. Within just a few minutes, they heard us screaming for our lives. They rushed to put out the fire, and get to us. They got us out and found someone to help us right away. Unfortunately, two of my siblings did not make it. We suffered a lot of burns, and our fur was singed. We went through many weeks of care for our wounds and also needed to be bottle fed. It was a long road for us, but we have all healed, and are so grateful to be alive and well. We are very affectionate. Cuddly, puring, biscuit making machines! We have no set backs from our injuries. We just look a little different. But who doesn't like different!?!?

I get along with cats, dogs, respectful kids. I would really enjoy a feline companion though as I am very social!

Meet Gemma Blu, - a lab mix with striking blue eyes and a heart of gold.

Gemma Blu is a sweet girl who loves everyone she meets. She does great with other dogs and even thinks feline friends are OK!

Gemma is crate trained, but she loves to relax sprawled out on the couch with her humans. She is also house trained and she walks well on a leash. She LOVES to go on strolls around the neighborhood.

Miles is a laid back, shy guy. He is curious of the other resident animals, watching from afar and responding to toys and treats to pull him out of his shell.

Once he warms up you will find he loves to climb on his cat tower and chase after toys. If you are a trust individual, he may even bring a toy to you before curling up in your lap.

He scratches appropriately on cardboard and his sisal scratching post. And he is a litter box champion – no accidents for this lil man! After a long play session, he retreats to sleep in his cat tower or in his hammock.

Meet Liza - but her foster affectionately calls her Tink!

Meet Lady Tinkleywink of Barkerton aka Tink, a spunky 7-month-old brindle beauty, who is ready to steal your heart! Tink was found as a stray in St. Paul and scooped up and brought into rescue. So she's a true Minnesotan girl!

This sweet and playful pup is already crate-trained, potty-trained, and knows basic commands like sit, shake, down, and wait. Tink also walks fairly well on a leash but would benefit from a family who is committed to continuing training. Plus, training will help you bond even more with this loveable girl (if that were even possible, right?!) and as a quick learner she would surely be able to impress all your friends and family with her new tricks and skills.

Tink is a cuddlebug who loves snuggling on the couch with her humans. She will even be your weighted blanket if you need one–a huge cost savings! But she's also always up for an adventure, whether it's a leisurely walk or a fun outing to a dog-friendly brewery. While out and about Tink generally minds her manners and sits patiently at the feet of new humans hoping for some pets and scratches but sometimes needs reminders that not everyone wants kisses but she's still a puppy after all and just wants to share the love!

Tink enjoys playing with other dogs in her foster home but like anyone needs time to warm up and settle in before she lets down her guard. She's also perfectly content with solo playtime, whether it's chasing her favorite toys or gnawing on a bone. Tink is also gentle and sweet with kids but like any young pup she requires close supervision due to her playful energy and size . At night, Tink is a peaceful sleeper, spending the whole night quietly snoring and dreaming of her forever family in her crate.

With her long legs, ears for days and her adorable brindle coat, Tink is a real head-turner! She's a quick learner, a big lover and a well mannered girl hoping to find her home for the holidays!

HAPPY TAILS ADOPTION UPDATE.
We picked up Tiki on August 17. She was about 4 months old and had just completed a journey from Texas. She quickly settled into another 4 hour trip to our home in Lutsen. Within a day, she and our 2 year old pup were playing and sharing a bed. Tiki has the sweetest disposition of any dog I have met. She and her sister do get into fits but generally Tiki prefers to cuddle. Now that she is getting bigger (8 months old and just under 30 lbs) she struggles to fit on my lap in my office chair but that doesn't keep her from trying. Now that we have snow, we have put on our snow shoes to pack down paths in the yard as Tiki and Daisy love to chase each other. We are very grateful to the rescue teams who brought Tiki to us.

Meet Hazel-Zaniya!

Happy Holidays to all my potential adopters. This will be my first holiday season in a warm home with plentiful food and love since I was abandoned at a senior living community on the Pine Ridge reservation in SD. I’m a young, playful, and happy girl that gets a second chance at happiness.

My foster family believes I’m between 10-12 months old. I seem to be a Bassett/cattle dog/shepherdy mix. I’m a very happy and friendly gal. My favorite things are treats, walks and playtime. I’m food motivated which makes training easier. I really enjoy going for my daily walks. I do great on leash, especially since I’ve had little exposure to being on leash. I also love romping around the yard with my foster canine siblings. I tend to play a little on the rough side, so future potential canines need to tolerant of my play style. I also live with cats currently. I’m curious and want them to play with me, but I don’t always understand or respect their wishes. So I would ask for a dog savvy feline, please.

Things I’m currently working on are potty training, and my mouthiness. Like I said, I’ve had little to no exposure to living and a home and I don’t know all the rules of this lifestyle. I’m on a strict potty schedule and doing well. I do keep my kennel clean and dry all night and day while my foster family is working. My other behavior I’m working on is mouthiness. My future family needs to know and understand how to redirect my attention with toys, training, and/or a flirt stick. Also if my future my family has children, older children would be best for me.

I will be a wonderful addition to the person(s) that can keep continuing my training with love and patience.

Meet Dally - and check out his cute spots!

Dally is a very sweet and loving boy. He LOVES attention and loves to love - he is just happy to be a dog. He loves to play with other dogs, play with toys and chomp on his bones.

Dally was found adabandoned and tied up with no food, water or shelter - but he has been adjusting very well to being inside with his people and is learning how to be a very good boy. He wants nothing more than to snuggle up with his humans and tries so hard to make them happy. He is always up for an adventure!

Dally is crate and house trained, but he will cry when you leave at first until he realizes someone is coming back for him. Dally took a few days to adjust to his new environment and we can expect with a transition (like with any dog) he will need some time to learn the ropes. He is also learning his basic manners and how to walk nicely on a leash. Dally is very athletic! So much so, he can jump a 4ft fence. Don't worry, he does just fine leashed outside - or a 6ft privacy fence would keep him contained!

Dally has not been exposed to cats, so we are unsure how he would do with them. He does have a high prey drive when outside, so a dog-savvy cat would be a must.

Dally would thrive in training classes - he is super smart and loves to learn!

This boy deserves the very best. Can you give him a home for the holidays?

Popeye is the sweetest companion you could ask for! This lovable couch potato adores snuggling up with his favorite human and thrives on constant attention. He’s a true people-pleaser who prefers the company of women and loves having someone by his side.

Popeye is wonderfully gentle—he’s not food aggressive and doesn’t mind sharing his space with cats. While he’s still working on potty training and can be a little anxious around new people, with patience and love, he’ll shine as the loyal friend he’s meant to be.

Popeye had a brief taste of training, and he is eager to learn and grow with the right guidance. This sweetheart is ready to bring warmth, cuddles, and endless loyalty to his forever home!
