Meet Faith, I named her this, to the shelter she was just 5 year old English bull dog! She was used as a breeder dog and then dumped in a shelter at 5 years young. That shelter was probably the best part of her life.

We tried to save her along with a partner rescue, we were an hour late. I am sorry humans failed you, I am sorry you never knew the love we had planned for you, I am sorry you did not get to feel the sun on your face, I am sorry you were treated as nothing.

Faith, In your memory we will do better.

Say hello to Fleur, a 6-month-old teacup Maltese with a heart as big as her little paws! This sweet girl has been through a lot, but you’d never know it from her gentle and loving demeanor. Fleur absolutely adores kids and gets along well with other small dogs. She’s a playful, smart pup who loves snuggles and being carried around in her very own bag – perfect for on-the-go cuddles!👜💕

Teacup Malteses like Fleur are known for their affectionate nature and loyalty, but they do need a home that will handle their tiny size with care. We’re not sure yet how she feels about cats, but she’d fit right into any family ready to give her the love and attention she deserves.

Sweet Mowgli is searching for a loving foster or forever home. This adorable 4-year-old has had a rough start in life. Used by an unethical breeder and discarded when no longer useful, he ended up in a high-kill shelter where his spirit, like so many others, began to shut down. With just moments to spare, Paws From Afar stepped in to save him from being euthanized.

Now, Mowgli needs a patient and kind-hearted person to show him that not all humans will hurt him. He deserves to experience love, compassion, and trust in a home that can offer him the time and care he so deeply needs. With patience and understanding, Mowgli can finally begin to heal and thrive. Please consider adopting Francine.

We recently rescued a group of Aussies who were living in poor conditions. The owner had passed away and the remaining relatives were overwhelmed trying to care for the six dogs who had never received proper care to begin with. It is possible that this was a bad breeding/hoarding situation and the Aussies were being labeled as “feral.” We were not surprised when they arrived at the shelter completely unsocialized and rather like wild animals. Francine remains rather shy, but she gets excited to see her caregivers and she is improving quickly. A look of comfort in her sparkling blue eyes is what we strive for. Francine would love to have a canine sibling in her new home to teach her what happiness and freedom really look like.
