Tessie's babies will be old enough to leave next weekend. They are pedigreed. Black Otter buck, Chocolate Otter buck, Lynx doe, Lilac Otter doe. The Lilac has longer shoulders and lacks depth. The Black otter has some s**t on his nose so he won't be show quality but has beautiful dense fur and is wide. I absolutely love the Lynx!

Did some rearranging in the barn so everyone can feel the fans. Ordered thermostats for the fans so I don't have to leave them running. So far seems to be working. Still have several available. New Zealands $25 and pedigreed Rex. Once the mud dries up again I'll get some updated pictures.

Macy's Phoebe. I thought I had posted her but she came from Macy's Flemish Giants and she's a sweet girl. We will be breeding her to our other light grey Flemish Giant buck, Franklin, who came from Leland Baker.
We will also breed Joy and Twitch once to Franklin for the sole purpose of excellent meat rabbits.

Just goes to show that even experienced breeders still make mistakes. Twitch started hay stashing a few days ago and I kept thinking "I never bred her back after her last litter." I usually always put a note on my calendar, add it to Everbreed, or put it on the board in the feed room. I didn't find any record of me breeding her, yet she was building a nest.
We thought she wanted bred, so we put her in with our new buck and she lifted.
The next day I get home from work and she has babies on the wire and some managed to fall out of the cage onto a table beside the cage. I had left my flannel shirt there and 3 were snuggled into it. The rest on the wire had already passed. I took the box from Tessie's cage and put it in Twitch's cage, put the 3 in it.
Yesterday I found 2 more kits on the ground, still alive! I put them in the box.
Twitch is one of my best moms. She's never missed, had a false pregnancy, etc. I should have listened to her and given her a box.
I've had a lot going on with work, getting things done, etc I guess I just forgot to put down a record of them breeding. It happens.
But now I'm going to make sure I put it down somewhere before leaving the barn after I breed them.
