A big thank you to KIFI Local News 8 for helping us spread the word about the need for foster homes and adopting! 🐾❤️ Our shelter has so many wonderful pets are waiting for their chance at a loving home, and some need a little extra TLC in a foster home before finding their forever. Fostering even for a short time can make a world of difference for a shelter animal!

Shelter managers say they have an abundance of dogs and cats looking for temporary and "fur-ever" homes. The shelter is trying to free up as much space as possible before 'kitten season' hits in the spring and volunteers are flooded with cats.

Remember this sweet girl? She is now ready for adoption!

When Bebe first came into our care, she was in rough shape—thin, terrified, and covered in filth. 💔 It was clear she had been neglected and let down.

Fast forward to today, and thanks to the love and patience of her foster family, Bebe has blossomed into the happy, loving dog we always knew she could be. She adores cuddling with her humans, enjoys the company of other dogs, and listens so well. She’s also curious about the cats in her foster home—watching them closely but never chasing. 🐾

Bebe has fought her way back to health and happiness. Now, she just needs someone to love her forever. Could that be you?

Have you seen a sweeter, more loving face looking for love and attention? 😍

This is Sloane, a 1.5-year-old Lab mix with the gentlest heart and the biggest capacity for love. 💕 This sweet girl is as friendly as they come—she adores pets, cuddles, and meeting new people!

She’s not just a cute face either—Sloane already knows her basics like sit, shake, and lie down (what a smart girl!). She also loves playing with other dogs!

We’re honestly surprised she hasn’t had more interest—with a personality this sweet, she’s truly a gem waiting to be discovered. Let’s change that! Help us find Sloane the forever family she deserves.

We have some adorable new pups ready to find their families, like Daisy the fluffy Poodle puppy, Baxter the brilliant Border Collie, and Houston the lovable Chihuahua/Beagle mix! But heartbreakingly, we also have some returning faces—dogs who thought they had found forever but are now back, hoping this time it truly sticks. 💔

🐾🐶 From Kennels to Cuddles 🏡❤

We received the nicest letter in the mail from Kimber, now Nova, and her new family! We definitely teared up a little with the sweet letter and photos of Nova, and a donation to the shelter.

Nova was renamed because 'Nova' means "new beginnings," and she learned her new name in a day because she agreed how much it fits her! She is the happiest dog and loves everyone she meets, especially if it means snuggles and hugs! Nova absolutely loves her new teenager and sleeps in bed with her. Nova also loves her two new doggie siblings and play and snuggle together, and doesn't mind the chickens or barn cats either.

Thank you, Nova and family, for the best update, photos, and donation! We are so glad families, like you, choose to adopt and give dogs, like Nova, another chance at a happy home and family!❤

A HUGE congratulations to our wonderful fur babies and their amazing new families! Pictured is Lobo, Ace, Zuri, Leonard, and Reba.

We are so thrilled to announce that these sweet souls have found their forever homes! It’s been a journey filled with love, care, and endless tail wags, and we couldn’t be happier to see these animals start their next chapter surrounded by the love they deserve.

Thank you to our loving adopters who have opened their hearts and homes to these precious pets. You’re not just changing their lives, you’re adding joy and companionship to your own.

2/8/25 Edit to Update: ADOPTED!! 🎉🎉

Zuri’s journey has been anything but easy. She first arrived at our shelter as a lost puppy in early 2023, and now, at 2 years old, she’s back, again, through no fault of her own.

She’s been adopted three times, only to be surrendered again and again. One family had allergies. Another simply didn’t want her anymore. The most recent return she wasn’t getting the exercise and activity she needed to keep her from finding her own things to do.

Through it all, Zuri has remained the same sweet, easygoing dog. She loves other dogs, does great with cats, adores kids, and just wants a family that will finally commit to her for life.

We know her forever is out there. Could it be you? She’s not asking for much—just a family who will finally be her forever.

🐾 Today is Idaho Loves Shelter Animals Day! ❤

Governor Brad Little has officially proclaimed February 5th as Idaho Loves Shelter Animals Day, recognizing the impact that adoption has on saving lives. In his proclamation, he shared that Idaho’s animal shelters can achieve a 90% save rate if just 6% more Idahoans seeking a pet choose adoption over purchasing.

We can’t think of a better way to celebrate than by highlighting Charlie, our longest-stay dog, who has officially hit 200 days in the shelter today. 💔

At just 1 year old, Charlie is fun, playful, and full of life, but he keeps getting overlooked, he’s even been passed by at two adoption events. This goofy, lovable pup adores water, and in the summer, you’ll find him splashing away in the pool, living his best life. He has so much love and joy to give, he just needs someone to give him a chance.

Since Charlie has spent so much of his young life in a kennel, we’re looking for a dedicated adopter willing to help him grow, learn, and thrive. His playstyle with other dogs is quirky and chatty, so if you have a pup at home, bring them by for a meet-and-greet to see that their playstyles can fit!

2/4/25 Edit to Update: ADOPTED!! 🎉🎉

At the beginning of the month, we told you about Lobo, hoping it would be his turn to find a home, but, weeks later, he’s still waiting.

Shelter life is hard, and Lobo is starting to struggle. He’s losing interest in the things that once made him happy; his daily enrichment isn’t as exciting, and settling down in his kennel is getting harder. He needs more than what we can give him here. He needs a home.

Lobo is an amazing dog who just needs someone to give him a chance:
🐾 Loves to play: toys, bones, you name it!
🐶 Dog-friendly: he enjoys playing with other pups!
🚶‍♂️ Good on a leash: he’s got solid walking manners!
💕 Loyal & loving: a little aloof at first, but once he knows you, he’s all heart.
🍖 Big fan of treats: the way to his heart is through snacks!

We need to find Lobo a home, soon. He deserves a family, a warm bed, and a life outside of a kennel. If you’ve been thinking about adopting, please come meet Lobo.

Meet Kora: a pocket-sized husky with a giant husky attitude! 🐾

Don’t let her petite 30-pound frame fool you; Kora may be small, but she’s packed with BIG husky personality! She has perfected the art of giving side-eye, believes rules are more of a “suggestion,” and, like any true husky, operates entirely on her own terms.

That being said, Kora does have pretty good manners, and thankfully, she loves treats, which makes her much more open to negotiation. She’s full of sass, smarts, and playfulness, everything you’d expect from a husky, just in a smaller package!

Huskies are known for their intelligence, independence, and love of adventure! They thrive with active families, plenty of mental and physical exercise, and humans who appreciate their, uh… opinionated nature.
