Hazel thanks everyone for the well wishes. She is still not 100% but well enough to go home with a bland diet. She was giving them a hard time at the ER, she got rather snappy with them which is normal Hazel behavior so im sure she will be just fine now that whatever went wrong has passed for the most part

Please say a prayer for our Hazel, we rushed her to Pets ER last due to vomiting and this morning she still isn't doing well. She could use all the healing thoughts we can get her.

Look who sadly has returned Scooter. Scooter is looking for a home that he can live out the last days he has left. Scooter is about 13 yrs old fully vetted and ready to have someone shower him with love in his golden age. He would do best in a home with out a young puppy giving him a hard time wanting to play. He does fine with other dogs as long as they are respectful of his personal space. He loves to be near his people so if you are looking for a companion to be by your side all the time then why not open your home and heart up to Scooter.

So good to see pups playing. Hazel has never really played at all because she is a tad ruff and most don't care for that. Boots however is a very young and never really learned how to play nice and is ruff himself so when he isnt making her mad by poking her in the butt, huge no no in Hazel's book. I will see them playing like this.
Boots is a pretty cool little guy likes to chill out with you in the chair pretty much house trained, is marking a bit but he does get neutered here shortly. Other then that and the typical puppy antics there isnt a thing wrong with him. This smart little guy im sure will make a great addition to anyone home

Since we have Boots that needs a full vet work up and a neuter we decided to do a Scentsy fundraiser. The holidays are right around the corner and everyone likes to have a nice smelling house. Well even though I had planned on taking a break this little guy needed some help so welcome Boots to the DASH family. He will be getting a full vet work up even neutered on Nov. 30th. That will allow us to get to know this little guy better so we can give out the best info about him that we can. He is a bit scared and unsure of things but thats to be expected when they first get here though.

Okay im finally going to share, was waiting to make sure everything was on the right track before I shared. Apollo went to his forever he has a new name and his people have been AMAZING. They are used to the fearful dogs and have been moving very slowly with him and have been gaining his trust. To see him laying with his new fur friend is just totally amazing and it truly makes my heart melt to see that he is doing so well I had to share it with you all.
Now I know that there are people that were interested in this little guy but with all his fear issues I was really in no hurry to adopt him because I really didn't want to have him stressed out which was so easy to do to him. This family though came very highly recommended by one of my fellow rescuers because that is all they deal with, fear issue dogs. Every dog they have had has always had some degree of issues. When I went to meet with them to see if this may be a good match I knew right then and there that this is where he belongs and by the updates that I do get I know it was the right decision we could have made.
He still has a long road ahead of him but this picture lets at least me know that he is home for the rest of his life and that he will be just fine.

Folks this is pretty much all that we have available for adoption at this time. We are located in MD and we have NO foster homes or dogs in OH.

Gus is a year old dachsund and whatever mix who is always looking for a good time. He was born with only three full legs, one of them is a partial leg. This, by no means, slows him down. He was initially a stray, so he is naturally skiddish and shy but curious around new people- it will take him a while to warm up to you- perhaps even several weeks. He loves to play with other dogs and children. It is unknown how he is around cats. Gus would prefer to be in a home with other playful dogs and/or young children to keep up with him and burn off his excess energy. He is potty trained, recently neutered and utd on shots. We are still working on leash walks, he is currently fostered in a home with a fenced in dog run which he prefers.

We have moved into more of a sanctuary status due to us being over loaded with seniors and long term fostera. Apollo has been a slow work in progress. Tonight though I thought i would share a few pics of him. This is huge for him. Apollo normally stays to himself in a corner in the front room where he can watch over things. He will run and p**p all over if anyone comes near him. Lately though he has been seeking me out and sitting with my little girl Ladybugg and Hazel (my other sanctuary). For the last couple of nights though while I'm outside Apollo comes out there and sits with me and allows to be love on him for a bit. The storms we have been having is an added stresser on him and those days he will even sit with me in the chair for that added security. He still has a long way to go but figured I would update you all on him

Apollo has been doing great lately. He has become more and more adventurous here. He still has a long way to go but we are no longer hiding and joining the family more and more. That tounge is always hanging out like that which just makes him even cutier then he already is.

Well the strays are still with us, chips and I've called the local vets to see if they remeber these 2 and nothing. We have started calling them Vader, all black male and Apollo for the black and white one.. Both are very sweet boys but both are also very much people shy. Fine with the other dogs just in flight mood where people are concerned. Because of the Pandemic there isn't much we can do as far as vetting goes sadly. If anyone knows these 2 guys please let us know so we can get them to their owners. They were found in the Snowhill, MD area but we have been told that at one time they had been seen over on Perryhawkin rd area.
