Jasper update -

Probably my last one of these because he’s doing great and is allowed to go back out with his buddies later this week. OSU finally got all of his virus & bacteria testing back and he’s negative for everything. So no salmonella, no tick borne illness, no viruses, no anything. They had originally told me a fever could be caused by his enteritis so I’m guessing that’s all it was

Jasper update -

He’s been home for 30 hours now and is doing good! Eating & p**ping and acting like himself. The whites of his eyes are yellow which was alarming so I had more bloodwork done on him this morning. His bilirubin is high but liver function and everything else is normal. So now that he’s eating and p**ping again his body should filter out the bilirubin. He also has not had a fever since being home

Jasper update

As long as Jasper doesn’t get any worse over night we’re planning on picking him up at 8 am. The colic has passed he’s just now fighting the infection so he’s not out of the woods yet. Everything he needs for the infection we can do at home. They don’t know what the infection is yet so he IS going to be under quarantine and they are going to call me as soon as they get back all of his test results. But he is not currently at risk of colic surgery, is no longer on an IV, and no longer has the NG tube in. He is beginning to eat and p**p

We do need square bales for him while he’s stalled, if anyone has square bales available near point pleasant WV or can deliver to near point pleasant WV

Jasper colic update

As of an hour ago he had spiked a fever of 105° and they were moving him into isolation and running more tests. That’s currently all I know for today but I’ll update this post when they call me back

Isolation raises price by $800 PER DAY and we were previously at about $1,000 per day. So currently he’s costing about $1,800 per day

Jasper colic update: Today, he has become a lot more painful and he also has a fever. They’re doing a culture to see if it’s bacterial. They won’t have the culture back until sometime tomorrow probably. They did increase his pain medication

Last week these three only lead and tied. Now they also pick up their feet, lunge, stand to be saddled, stand at the mounting block, load on the trailer, and are ok with me leaning over the saddle and patting the saddle. Still a lot to do before first rides, but they are progressing quickly!

We will be getting several horses in on consignment/in to be trained & sold this week! A couple Appaloosas and a Morab gelding. All are in their teens. The morab the owner wants to sell ASAP, the Appaloosas will be in training prior to being sold. Not registered

The morab is green broke to ride but has issues with saddling and mounting so being sold as a project. Not for inexperienced people. No issues with riding, just green. 13 years old, 15.1-15.2hh. Very low x,###. I will be getting pictures and more info when he arrives.

Foxy, my QH cross 8 year old mare will also be available in about a month. 15.0 hands. She’s riding very nicely, has never offered to buck, rear, kick, bolt, etc. Will WTC both directions, steers, woahs, and working on lateral movement. She has a lot of go. Would make a nice endurance horse or barrel prospect. Would recommend an intermediate rider. Will be low-mid x,###
