This is a video one of our employees caught of a demodex mite. These guys live deep in dogs' and cats' hair follicles, and normal, healthy animals can live happily with these hitchhikers. However, when pets are stressed or their immune systems are compromised, demodex mites can cause problems: Hair loss, scaly skin, and other skin infections. They are NOT contagious to people, so you can stop scratching your head!
