⭐️It’s National Vet Tech Week⭐️

Vet Tech Appreciation Week is a wonderful opportunity to recognize the hard work and dedication of veterinary technicians. We play a crucial role in animal healthcare, providing support to our veterinarians, ensuring the well-being of our patients. Vet techs often go above and beyond, working long hours and facing emotional challenges, all while maintaining a compassionate and caring attitude. This week, let's take a moment to thank them for their tireless efforts and the significant impact they have on the lives of our furry friends.🐾💗

As vet techs we perform a variety of tasks to assist our doctors in the care of animals.

Our duties include:
- Assisting doctors with physical exams and taking medical histories.
- Collecting and processing laboratory samples like blood, urine, and tissue.
- Administering medications, vaccines, and treatments prescribed by veterinarians.
- Assisting in surgeries by preparing animals, sterilizing instruments, and monitoring anesthesia.
- Performing diagnostic imaging such as X-rays and ultrasounds.
- Maintaining medical records and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the clinic.

Based on the current projections and estimated time of Hurricane Milton’s arrival to Polk County, special needs shelters will open at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8, public and pet shelters open at noon on Tuesday. Hello Outback family! We are keeping an eye on the hurricane but as of right now we will be CLOSED on Wednesday, and possibly reopen Thursday afternoon as long as everything is good with the clinic!! Please prepare yourselves and your furry friends. There are shelters for animals during the hurricane, if you need a copy of your pets vaccine certificate for them, please give us a call!
