I'm looking at winterizing needs for the coming season. I know, sounds crazy this early but you have to plan early if you work on this budget like ours. I'm going to need several heavy duty extension cords 50 to 75 ft, they run about a dollar a foot. I'm going to need water faucet covers for four faucets, especially since he's not capable of working on them for me anymore. A broken line would be a terrible thing. And there's always extra cost for Animal Care in the winter.
While we've gotten a lot smaller theres still about 70 small Souls here Counting seasonal rehab Wild Things, dogs, exotics, and Sanctuary cats. Also as a side note, it's costing roughly $30 a week to feed Wild Things before they're released. We've done exceptionally well with our releases this year. Thank the Lord.
I know y'all know I'm winding up to something here.. I'm going to have to have a little fundraiser later in August if you can help please do. God bless us all.

All the purple martins have migrated. I haven't seen a wild Martin since yesterday evening. These babies are still not ready to go free. The four older ones I could probably turn loose, as soon as they after tomorrow. I'm a little bit heartbroken I was hoping the wild ones would hang out so they could all go together.

Sorry to have been absent from this page for a bit. Our health has been a big concern and I'm having to spend a lot of the time I would normally spend writing posts taking care of Bubba. Please know that I'm diligently working on trying to get the TNR started. It's going to take a while funding has been very low. But we're still dedicated to doing our best for the animals in our area even though we can't take any in right now. God bless you all.

After all of this rain please watch for a little birds on the ground that have fallen from their nests.

The meeting with the Oncor representative was not unpleasant. That's all I'm going to say at this point. We are protecting our trees.

I know I've been absent from here for a while. If you know me personally you know I was working with two broken arms and a husband with a broken hip for the last two and a half months.

While both of us are still healing we are so thankful for all the help and the wonderful people that have prayed for us. This little misadventure has opened my eyes to why God has helped us get so many kitties and dogs out to rescues into homes. 20 months ago my kitty count was 178 in the Kennels, and the dogs were close to 30. But with a lot of help a lot of prayer we're under 45 in the Kennels and the house. And our dog count is down to 21. Seven cats are still due to go to rescue local here. All the other felines are either personal Felines and family members or Sanctuary felines that will not be going anywhere will live their lives out here with us. And I'm working on trying to get Bubba to turn loose of a few of the puppies that I think could get good homes. I'm pretty sure everybody that's here is going to stay here besides the seven cats though.

You come to a point in life where you figure out that your energy level and your life expectancy will not allow you to do some of the things that you've been doing for years. And these Health scares have shown me that it's time to switch gears.

😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻
What we're going to do over the next year is switched from a standing shelter to a TVNR facility for the local area. It is my intention to gather the funds to purchase at the very least 30 nice little traps. I'm going to work with local senior citizen centers and the local high schools and try to get folks interested in a program to help trap neuter vaccinate and release local community cats and Colony Cats in our area. This will be less of a strain on my depleted energy, and allow me to take care of Bubba better. This will also allow me to be of use to my sister shelters and our local population. But most of all the felines that don't have anyone in our area, or only have a colony feeder can have a life too. When my strength allows in the future I intend to bottle feed for the local shelter. But I'm never going to get overwhelmed again as we were a couple years ago when we had so many sick kittens come in. And, any bottle fed kittens will go straight to APA or another rescue. We will always be a no-kill we will always strive to care for the abused, discarded, and homeless. Just have to do it a little wiser as far as our health goes with the energy we have.

I know this was a long post, I know it was a long time coming, but there you go. Please help us with this Venture if you can. I look forward to watching St Francis Animal Rescue grow as a trap vaccinate neuter and release program. We aren't going anywhere we're just Switching gears folks. God bless us all.

Public service announcement.

I'm getting calls from people who've seen the cats that were in the last transport via Winnie Berry and from our little rescue. None of those cats are anybody's cats who lost them recently in the area. The cats that were in that transport were either born at this rescue or have been here for 1 to 2 years.
I do not take cats folks trap in this area.

Please check your local shelters for your animals thank you

Hey y'all. Here I am with another need.
4 of Janie's senior kitties are scheduled to go out of state to a special rescue. We need health certificates of them by the 31st.
This is a miracle rescue. They will be going into homes as bonded pairs, so nobody is lonely for their family.
They are $25 each. Please help if you can.

Thank you Early Years Foundation, for your donation toward our cat transport next week. Janie's Crew are thankful.

This week is an amazing week in the lives of some of our long term kitties. It is their time to get the opportunity to shine. To have their very own families to love and spoil them as they so much deserve. All we need to do is get them there. Transportation cost for each blessed kitty is $20. Would you help them get the opportunity to make this amazing trip?
We have 10 precious souls that have been chosen to make this journey. We need to raise $200 to help them reach their life of being truly spoiled and loved kitties with families that are patiently awaiting their arrival to fill what is missing in their homes, a furever furry friend to snuggle and play with.
Will you help us make their dreams come true?

I have a special request
Please help if you can.

7 of my sweet babies have the opportunity to get to their own loving families to live out their best life. But we need help to cover transportation cost. This is such a blessing at this time not only for the kitties but our Rescue, with these cold temperatures and rising utilities. They will all be safe and warm with their new families. 2024 is going to be a good year for our 4 legged

Feline Fact Friday ...

What is TNVR (aka TNR)? -- Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate, & Return

This process is the most humane way to help unowned community cats live healthier lives and lower the number of kittens being born outside, which decreases the outdoor cat population (and ends suffering!!!)

Spaying and neutering cats also decreases nuisance behaviors such as roaming, fighting, yowling, and spraying, which makes these cats better neighbors in the community.

⚠️ Please make sure that any cat (pet or community) you are feeding is spayed, neutered, or TNVRed.

Reach out to us for more information about TNVR if you're located in and around Charlotte, NC.
