Hi there, I’m Chief! I’m 6.5 years old, and after spending my early years as the chief of the farm, I’m ready to hang up my title and retire in sunny Florida! Sure… as the top dog, I had lots of fun (wink wink) being a stud, but now it is now time to shine and retire in sunny Florida!

My owner says I’m a big lovebug, and I’d have to agree. I get along great with all the kids and dogs I’ve met so far, and I can’t wait to meet my forever family. I must admit, I do have one little habit, I like to dig….but hey, I’m open to learning better ways to spend my time. Oh yeah…and sometimes I’ll jump up to give you a hug! What can I say? I just love showing affection! I guess that makes two habits (hee hee)! But don’t worry, I’m smart and eager to learn. With your guidance, all my golden goodness will shine through. I got a golden heart and ready to soak up all the love and attention you’ve got to give and cannot wait to be your best friend. 🐾🤍🧡💛

I don’t want to burst anyone’s bubble but dogs aren’t pack animals. They’re still social animals but not pack animals anymore…

Many dogs would prefer being “only dogs” and many other dogs definitely need to have a buddy. It really depends on the individual dog.

Next time you want to get another dog, ask whether your dog really wants a friend.
