Pet Adoption Thru Caring Hands
Pet Adoption Thru Caring Hands (PATCH) was founded in 1991 by Kersti (Ket) Raimondo, an icon across Northern New Jersey for saving the lives of countless homeless felines. Ket, as she was known to all, devoted all her waking hours to feeding, TNR, and taking-in to her own home adoptable cats and kittens. The number of felines Ket placed into new loving homes over her 40+ years in this pursuit is in the thousands. In 1991, Ket started Pet Adoption Thru Caring Hands (PATCH), with the goal of creating a permanent and growing organization of volunteers to continue her work at saving homeless felines. This led to the opening of PATCH’s dedicated cat shelter in Pompton Lakes NJ in 1997, which Ket personally managed with the help of dozens of volunteers. PATCH’s shelter is able to provide a clean, safe and comfortable temporary home, food and medical care for up to 70 cats and kittens awaiting their forever homes. In 2017, Ket turned over management of the PATCH shelter to Elsebeth (El) Paynter and Dorothy Kluchinski, who are carrying on the very noble legacy which Ket Raimondo started over 40 years ago.
