Wow! We were completely blown away by the kindness and generosity these fur babies received for Christmas! 🎄 Our amazing clients and community did not disappoint and came through tremendously for the Northern Oklahoma Humane Society. 🐶🐱With everyone’s help we were able to bless all the pet’s waiting for their furever homes with a wonderful surprise and hopefully made their holiday a little more special. Thank you again for all the support and donations. We truly couldn’t have done it without everyone’s help. ❤️🐾

Looking for a RESPONSIBLE ADULT for full/part time Kennel Assistant

A Kennel Assistant attends to the basic needs of animals that are boarding and/or that are patients of the hospital and cleans the hospital facility.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
+ Observes patients for obvious signs of health concerns and reports to senior staff.
+ Cleans and disinfects areas of the hospital as often as is necessary to maintain high standards of care.
+ Prepares patient meals, cleans patient cages and bedding, and maintains litter boxes.
+ Provides routine attention to patients, including exercising dogs.
+ Observes patient voids and reports to senior Veterinary Assistant or doctors.
+ Removes and washes soiled laundry and keeps clean laundry stocked.
+ Patrols facility regularly to ensure cleanliness.
+ Other job duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE
+ Previous work experience in veterinary care preferred but not required.
+ Previous experience handling small animals necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
+ Ability to work in a busy hospital environment and proactively identify tasks required to ensure hospital cleanliness
+ Ability to do heaving lifting and strenuous activity
+Ability to work long hours

Kinkaid Veterinary Hospital is currently doing an Angel Tree to benefit all the fur babies at Northern Oklahoma Humane Society this Christmas! Come pick out a fur angel from our tree and bless them this Christmas with some new toys and treats while they wait for their furever home! Simply take a tag from our tree and then return the gifts back to our hospital. We will deliver all the goodies collected for them to the NOHS and hopefully make their Christmas a little brighter! ❤️🎄🐶🐱🎁❤️

Never forget. We honor all the heroes of 9/11.

After the twin towers and the Pentagon were hit on September 11, 2001, the largest U.S. deployment of search and rescue dogs in history rushed to these sites with their handlers. In addition to these 350 brave K9 heroes, more than 300 therapeutic dogs were stationed to aid and comfort rescue workers and volunteers. To this day, the altruistic value of their efforts remains unparalleled.

Microchips greatly increase the chances that pets will be reunited with their families if they are lost or stolen…but a microchip only works if its registration information is accurate.

To remind pet owners to have their pets microchipped and to keep the registration information up-to-date, American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) joined together to create Check the Chip Day. With support from HomeAgain PetRescuer, the AVMA develops materials to promote the event.
