It has been brought to our attention that a fraudulent company has been using our name to make reoccurring charges to bank accounts. Ponder Veterinary Hospital does not and never will have any reoccurring charges. If you notice this in your bank statement, please contact your bank. Our credit card machines have not been compromised in anyway, this is simply a fraudulent company posing as us. Did you know that the Blue Lacy is the Texas State dog? 🐾
They originated in Texas in the mid 19th century and were recognized by the state in 2001!

This true blue Texas dog is named Caliber and we couldn’t be more thankful for him! He’s extremely intelligent and sweet!

“Should I microchip my pet?” 🧐

Answer: YES 🐾

This sweet girl was found by a very nice gentlemen today. He brought her into the clinic in hopes of finding a microchip. Sure enough, she was microchipped and we were able to reunite her with her owners! She had been missing for 5 months! ❤️

The staff decided to give her a little royal treatment before she returned home. We got her bathed, nails clipped, and ears cleaned out!

Summer is here! Don't let the heat slow down the fun, make sure you and your pets have plenty of water available!

Ear Mites!!!

Run of the mill ear infections are the most common reason our pets have itchy ears. But sometimes, there's ear mites!! Theses little bugs were scooped out of a sweet kitten's ears and this video is what they look like under a microscope. Ew! Good news is, they are easily treated!

Who We Are

Ponder Veterinary Hospital was founded by Dr. Phil Henderson in 1975. At that time the practice saw cats and dogs, and larger animals such as horses and cattle. Dr. Henderson developed a practice culture of progressive and high quality medicine, along with a focus on customer service and patient care.

Dr. Chris Norwood joined the practice in 2005 after graduating from Texas A&M, and eventually purchased it in 2012. At which point only small animals were seen as patients. Dr. Norwood has built on Dr. Henderson’s foundation of good medicine, and continues to bring in services such as ultrasound so that clients and patients don’t need to travel far for their health care.

In 2018, Dr. Katherine Moriarty became a part of Ponder Veterinary Hospital. She graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2015 and spent her first years practicing in Houston, TX. She is happy to bring in Fear Free principles and see cat and dog behavior cases.
