The Ammon Collective A little collection of animals that one day will grow into a self sustaining farm and reptile house

It started when three little baby rats found their way into our hearts by being impossibly cute eating blueberries, and one adorable bearded dragon wooed us with his charming personality. Since these delightful chance encounters, we've been taking in all kinds of critters, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates, with focus on ones with little chance of being adopted. Our second bearded d

ragon is missing a foot, and our iguana was so stressed at the pet store that he dropped part of his tail and was put on "clearance". Through this process, we realized how incredibly important it is to understand the animals you keep, and acquired a plethora of tips and tricks for keeping all kinds of pets in harmony.

Our pregnant bearded dragon, Orchid, finally laid her first clutch! We took the eggs in to our friends at Pets & Things Reptile Emporium for incubation. She ended up producing 24 eggs, only one of which was damaged in the process. The remaining eggs will hatch in around 65 days.

Our little Orchid is visibly gravid! Her belly has become enlarged with a clutch of eggs. We predict within the next two weeks she will find a spot to lay them at. Bearded Dragons typically lay around 20 eggs, which will have to be removed from the soil she lays them in and be placed in an incubator until hatched!
