Consumer Warning
It has come to our attention that someone has been impersonating the Shelter in order to solicit donations. This is happening on Instagram and YouTube. They are using a Pay Pal account. The Oakland County Animal Shelter and Pet Adoption Center does not have a Pay Pal account. They are also using horrendous pictures to initiate animal lovers to give donations. The Oakland County Animal Shelter and Pet Adoption Center would never post such pictures. Please be careful and if you have any doubts, please contact the Shelter.

This special girl is a sweetheart but definitely needs some help with learning manners.

Happy National Mutt Day!

National Mutt Day was established in 2005 by animal welfare advocate Colleen Paige. The day aims to celebrate mixed-breed dogs, often referred to as "mutts," and to encourage their adoption from shelters. Approximately 80% of dogs in shelters are mixed breeds, and this day serves to highlight their unique qualities and the joy they can bring to families.

Dear Santa, All I want for Christmas is a loving home. I want to be part of a family who will love and cherish me and I promise to do the same back.

Kisses, Tasha!

Meet Tasha, a sweet 5-year-old (51 lbs.) girl looking for her forever home! This playful and friendly pup was surrendered due to no fault of her own, and is now ready to find a loving family to call her own.
Tasha would thrive in a home without other pets, where she can be the center of attention. She's a social butterfly and loves people! With some patience and practice, Tasha would benefit from learning basic commands to help her become a well-behaved companion.
Tasha is looking for an active family who enjoys:
Going for walks and exploring new places
Spending time outdoors and getting fresh air
Giving plenty of love, attention, and TLC
If you're ready to provide Tasha with a forever home filled with love, exercise, and adventure, she'll be your loyal companion! Could you be the one to give Tasha a second chance at a happy life?

Meet Wally
Wally's past may be a mystery, but one thing is clear: he's been given a second chance at love, and he's hoping you'll be the one to give it to him. This 3-year-old sweetheart was found as a stray, and despite waiting, no one came to claim him. Now, Wally's heart is aching for a family to call his own.
Despite his uncertain start, Wally's spirit remains unbroken. He's a gentle soul who loves nothing more than being by his favorite humans' side. Walks are his favorite part of the day, and he'll trot along happily beside you, taking in all the sights and smells.
Wally's ideal match would be a family who:
Can provide him with love, patience, and stability
Will take the time to get to know his quirks and personality
Will give him the companionship and attention he craves
If you're ready to open your heart and home to a loyal companion, Wally would be forever grateful. He may not have a past to share, but he's ready to create a bright future with you.
