**Rabbits looking for a new home**

Meet Curtis and Jellybean - these cuties are looking for a new home!
Curtis is a 2 year old spayed female (white) and Jellybean is a 3yr neutered male (black). They are a bonded pair and both rabbits are litter box trained. They will come with virtually everything you need to take care of them, their owner just wants them to go to a good home. They are very sweet, attention seeking, and playful and are up to date on a physical exam and their RHDV2 vaccine. HAPPY VET TECH WEEK!!!

One week out of the year is not enough to celebrate the talents of this wonderful group of people. Vet techs are essential members of the veterinary healthcare team, working alongside veterinarians to assist in medical procedures, educate pet owners, and contribute to the overall well-being of animals. These are the people that are in the background taking care of the animals, performing treatments, placing IVs, monitoring anesthesia, taking radiographs, and literally being a jack-of-all-trades in every clinic. Veterinarians could literally not do our job without them! National Veterinary Technician Week is a time to honor our vet techs and celebrate the expertise, compassion, and enthusiasm they bring to the practice every single day.

We have an amazing staff here with Bonnie our licensed technician, our assistants Vanessa, Chaely, Allison, Logan, Macy, and Jessie and our team up front of Amber, Macayla, and Alli. Thank you ladies for all of your hard work and dedication. Be sure to thank a team member any time you are in the office!!

Go Nessie go! Nessie is the second loggerhead sea turtle we’ve been involved with while working with the Burton 4H Center’s reptile collection. It’s so much fun to see them grow from tiny babies to be released and further help sea turtle research!

**MISSING PET BIRD**

If you see a bird like this, or most likely hear a sound like the one in the link below, please let us know!!

One of our dear patients, Kailani, a Hahns Macaw parrot, got surprised by something and flew Monday night August 19th. She is trained to free fly and knows where her house is, she's just flown a bit too far this time. They live in Berwick off Ogeechee.

She'll fly to you for a bag of chips or a box of cereal and she’s a wonderful bird! Help us get her home!

**IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT**
Next week Dr. Miller and Dr. Wilkinson will be out of the office attending the Joint Conference of the AEMV and ARAV. It's critical for us to attend conferences like these to keep up on the latest and greatest developments in our field, and this conference focuses on exotic companion mammals, reptiles, and amphibians. Unfortunately this means that we will not be seeing appointments next week until Friday, Aug 30 when Dr. Wilkinson is back. The staff will still be here normal business hours answering the phones and triaging cases, and they can answer questions and will be here for medication and food sales and boarder drop off and pick up. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we must attend continuing education so that we can provide the best care possible for your pets (and maintain our licenses!). We'll keep you updated on all the cool information we learn!
