🔴How is it even possible, no one has came for her? It is a question we ask about almost every dog in our care..they sit.
This girl here.. lol she is not only beautiful but such a ham.
Poor girl has been failed twice by 2 different families.
1. Daisy was adopted and returned the same day...too much energy was the reason
2. Daisy was adopted, then she was called in as a stray. She was in fact not.
We are done with that, and time to move on to finding a fabulous forever or rescue for this girl. She is the best girl!

a homeless dog with a heart full of love and a spirit full of adventure. Despite her circumstances, Daisy's sweetness shines brighter than any diamond. She has a knack for making friends wherever she goes, her tail wagging a rhythm of joy that's contagious to all around her.
She love's riding around-There's something about the siren's song that thrills her, her ears perking up at the sound. She loves the feel of the wind rushing through her fur as the city speeds by, a world full of scents and sounds that keep her nose twitching and her eyes sparkling with curiosity.
But what Daisy loves most about these rides is the people. The officers, who share their lunch with her, who scratch behind her ears and make her feel like she belongs. Because for Daisy, home isn't a place. It's being surrounded by people who care, people who love her just as she is. And in their company, Daisy isn't a homeless dog. She's a queen, riding in her chariot, ruling over a kingdom of kindness and love.

Day's have come and gone, and now it has turned into months... have come and gone since I have been by the Bayou with the rest of my homeless furry friends. .... Here I sit...and some of them longer than me....waiting and wondering...I am getting a short reprieve while I go through treatment.
I do know now where I am now...they gave me a name. I am Darcy....they tell me I am such a sweet and beautiful girl. I am happy to see them, You can see the bayou in my picture They say they will help me find a home.
Im not a big girl..I wont take up much room.

It is with profound sadness we wanted to let everyone know our sweet boy Ripley crossed over the Rainbow Bridge today. He fought the good fight, he just couldnt win the war on heart worms. Ripley was found as if he was peacefully sleeping. We must take comfort in the fact he knew love, and was well cared for.
So many people to thank for helping us today and Ripley along the way. Terri Dushaw Ancelet thank you for today and always. LaDonna Hawthorne yall the bestest momas any doggie can ask for.
Mardi Paws / Denise we dont know what we would have done without you today. Always lending a shoulder to cry on and a solution to our crisis.. they have offered to have Ripley cremated and a collar for him at the Rainbow Bridge. Ripley may not have had his forever family in the end but..he will always have a home with us at the police department with Olive.we are their forever family. Ripley you will be forever loved...forever missed. 😭😭😭😭

Dear Friends,

We are reaching out for help for our boy, Ripley. he is a sweet soul whose gentle spirit can melt even the hardest of hearts. Ripley needs help.

We are looking for a boarding break for him, a fospice family who would want to give him a calm family environment as long as they can. He deserves this. What we don't know is if he will make it, he has a section of arteries with a knot. He will not make it, if we don't do anything. it has been a challenging journey.

If not we need help with boarding $200.00 he can not be in this heat.

Ripley will be taken off Doxy for a month and weaned off Lasix, and possibly give him his first injection next month.

Ripley was diagnosed with with heartworms according to his vet records in 2023 and no follow up treatment occurred. Ripley found himself homeless near the end of 2024. He is experiencing symptoms and has been under vet care.

A full work-up was done, and thanks to the compassionate care from Dr. Olson at Rice City Animal Hospital, we now have a clearer understanding of what he faces. This initial examination, which included blood tests and X-rays, totaled $249.00.

Currently, Ripley is staying in a quiet, cool environment while he receives the care he desperately needs. He is at a separate boarding facility where they are taking wonderful care of him, but the costs are mounting, and we’re reaching out to our community for help.

If you feel compelled to assist Ripley, please call 337-250-4540. Contributions can be made under the Port Barre Police Department/Law for Paws account, invoice #842. Every little bit helps. Checks can be made to Town of Port Barre in the memo please put Law for Paws and mailed to Po Box 1379 Port Barre, LA. 70577 so we can pay any invoices for boarding, vet bills etc.

Thank you for opening your hearts to Ripley. Your kindness and generosity will not go unnoticed, and together, we can help him on his journey to recovery. Any overages will be used for any dogs in need and Ripley's continuous journey.

RESCUE, FOSTERS OR NO FEE ADOPTION ( with requirements)

Feast your eyes on these sweet souls—Daisy, Darla, and Ivy have begun their heartworm treatment/doxy and injections will soon follow and they are currently in boarding.

We couldn’t resist sharing a glimpse of Lovey too; she’s simply too adorable to leave out and will be heading to rescue soon.

*Ivy needs help with her boarding stay and injections. The heat is relentless here, but their spirits remain bright.

Ripley hasn’t been featured yet with this group, as he’s medically fragile. With exceptional care and boundless love, we hold hope that he’ll soon be ready to join the rescue or adoption family.

Please keep him and all these precious ones in your thoughts and prayers. Their journey is tough, but every moment brings them closer to a brighter, loving future.

A very nice family took this girl in when she showed up at their house.
Daisy as the kids named her, appears to have been dumped. They can not keep her.
She gets along with the children and loves people.
