UPDATE: Leo was found!

Port Charlotte Area:

Please keep your eye out for Leo. He got out of the house on 2/9/24 and has not returned. Last seen on Sistina Street between Conway and Olean. Leo is microchipped. He is not currently at the Animal Welfare League. He responds to "Big Kitty" and has on a green collar with no tag.
Please feel free to contact us with any information regarding Leo. He is a beloved staff pet.

Just a reminder that we will be closed starting December 29th until January 2nd. We will be back in office on January 3rd. Please keep this in mind when refilling medications and prescription food. We will NOT have someone in office to issue any medications during this time. Update on server status- PLEASE READ
Our server is still down and requires maintenance. Because of this, we are still unable to access any medical records or client/ patient information. We will need to reschedule all annual appointments on December 7th, 2023 and December 8th, 2023. We will do our best to accommodate sick visits but some things may be incapable. We will not be able to provide estimates for these services and payment will need to be paid within a 7 day mark of our call for compensation. A fee will be placed on the account and no further services will be rendered for failure to pay. Medications will be able to be picked up and payment will be taken at a later time. Please be able to provide all medication details including the item, milligram, and dosing instructions as we will not be able to access this information. We do apologize for any inconvenience this causes. Its Naitonal Veterinary Techinican Week! Our veterinary techinicans do everything from assisting clients, monitoring patients during surgery, drawing blood, running blood samples, and making sure your special furry friends are taken care of! In appreciation for all the hard work that they do, we will be giving them a half day on Friday, October 20th to start their weekend early. We will be closing early at 1pm. We encourage our clients to give your fellow technician a thank the next time you seem them. Our clinic could not run without them!

Kennel cough is currently going around Charlotte county. Please be aware if you take your pet to dog parks, doggy day care, and other places where they might come in contact with other pets.

The dog park at Ann & Chuck Dever Regional Park closed Monday after a dog tested positive for Bordetella.

RECALL ALERT - Nestlé Purina PetCare Company is voluntarily recalling select lots of Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets EL Elemental (PPVD EL) prescription dry dog food due to potentially elevated levels of vitamin D.

Starting on February 1st, 2023 Dr. Papan will be out of office for maternity leave. She will return on May 1st, 2023. During these months Dr. Kate Petersen and Dr. Chelsea Pike will be providing coverage. Some of you may have already met Dr. Robert Bergantino. Dr. Bergantino has been performing surgeries for us since November of 2022 and he will continue to do so during this time as well. Communication with Dr. Papan will be limited from February to May. Medication refills that consist of a controlled substance ( such as phenobarbital) will take longer than normal to fill. We ask that you please give us a weeks’ notice so we can ensure your prescription is written before your pet runs out.
