After 2,258 days—over six incredible years—of waiting patiently for her perfect match, Stelly’s day finally came yesterday.

This sweet girl has been a beloved part of our shelter family, her gentle spirit touching the hearts of everyone who met her. She watched her furry friends come and go, always trusting that her moment would arrive when the time was just right.

Yesterday, that trust was rewarded. Stelly's person walked through the doors, and it was as if they had both been waiting for this moment their whole lives. There was an instant connection, a shared spark that spoke volumes. By the end of the day, Stelly walked out of the shelter with her new person, her tail wagging and her eyes shining brighter than ever.

Stelly’s story reminds us why we do what we do. No matter how long the wait, every animal deserves their moment. Here’s to the next chapter of her life, one filled with love, comfort, and a place to call home.

Thank you to everyone who helped Stelly along her journey. She may have waited the longest, but it was worth every moment for her to find her forever home. Here's to a new chapter filled with love, cuddles, and endless joy. Stelly, you’ll always have a piece of our hearts!

URGENT TEMPORARY FOSTER NEEDED FOR HOGAN

We are seeking a temporary foster for Hogan from December 14 to January 4 while his current foster is out of town. Hogan is an incredible 60-pound boy who thrives in a home environment and struggles with shelter life.

At the shelter, Hogan became so stressed that he would injure himself in the kennel. Since moving to his current foster home in September, he has transformed into a happy, loving, and well-adjusted dog.

Hogan’s amazing qualities:
- House-trained
- Walks beautifully on a leash
- Knows basic commands
- LOVES car rides
- Super sweet and food-motivated

Hogan is a certified good boy and will make a wonderful temporary companion! All food, supplies, and support will be provided.

If you can temporarily foater Hogan, would like to adopt him or have questions, please contact our foster coordinator. Let’s keep this sweet boy happy and safe over the holidays.

Join us at Burnt Store Presbyterian Church from 10 AM to 1 PM (11330 Burnt Store Rd., Punta Gorda) for their amazing Fall Festival🍂

We’ll have an information table set up—stop by and say hi while enjoying all the fun!

⭐️Foster Friday⭐️

Introducing our fosters of the week! Riley and Purge.

Riley is a 2 year old, 62lb female with lots of energy. She would do well in an experienced dog handler family. She can get really excited and get a little mouthy, so she would need some training on what's play and what's not. Her fosters say she is a love bug with lots of energy to spare.

Purge is a very shy 8 year old handsome buff boy. He has come a long way from when he first came into the shelter! He is being fostered with other cats and seems to get along with them, he is just an older boy who needs some love and extra time to open up in his surroundings.

A sincere thank you to our fantastic community for making our inaugural tree lighting ceremony a phenomenal success! The atmosphere was filled with festive cheer as Santa made his grand appearance, delighting everyone in attendance. (More pictures will follow soon) 🎄🎅🏼

You better watch out, you better not cry, because Santa Claus is making a stop at the Animal Welfare League TONIGHT at 5 PM! 🎉✨
