Metallic Montana is officially your 2022 AQHA World Reserve Champion for First Level Dressage!!! She finished with an overall average of 69.354%. When we arrived here in Oklahoma I wasn’t even sure we would be able to compete because Cadi’s legs swelled quite a bit from the 23 hour trailer ride. Thanks to Dave Willams and his Nautilus Equine Therapy Spa Cadi’s legs were back to normal and we were able to compete. I highly recommend this form of therapy and Dave was an absolute pleasure to work with! Huge thanks to International Riding Helmets for their continued support! I choose the IRH XLT to keep me safe while doing what I love. Thank you to Lisa Schmidt for the last year and a half of instruction and support even from afar. Thank you to Janet L Bowen Dvm and her husband, Frank, for breeding and starting this once in a lifetime horse! Special thanks goes to Paul Sipos for not only making my partnership with Cadi possible but for supporting me in every way imaginable and making the long trip to Oklahoma with me. Finally, I want to thank each and everyone of you that supported us and watched our rides over the live stream, you have no idea how much it meant to me to know we had a whole team of people rooting for us back home. Region One Championships 2022 ☑️

Dropshot and I finished 22nd out of 34 rides in the Open First Level division with a 66.736%!! While we did not have the ride we had hoped we would, I am very proud of how he handled the exciting atmosphere especially with only having four rides at home to prepare. Dropshot cast himself badly and as a result, needed two and a half weeks of rest. I am so grateful that he is okay, and a huge thanks goes to Josephine Bradford and Katelynn Arns for getting him back on his feet when it happened. I am excited to leave First Level behind and am looking forward to moving up the levels.

Metallic Montana met and exceeded my hopes for her competing at a regional championship as a quarter horse in the open division. I only wanted to break 60% and not finish last. Although she was uncharacteristically spooky and we had a few 5-year-old mare opinions I am incredibly proud of her. We finished 32nd out of 34 rides with a 63.125%!! I am looking forward to going to Oklahoma City to the AQHA World Show next month to compete at First Level for the last time.

Overall, I'm very pleased with both of my horse's performance and the results of my first competition season/Regional Championship as an open rider. This sport is challenging, and it takes a village. I am so grateful for my village.

On Wednesday, Dropshot, Metallic Montana, and I head down to the Virginia Horse Center in Lexington, VA to compete in the Great American Insurance Group/USDF Region 1 Dressage Championships at First Level. I am so excited to be once again participating in a Regional Championship. Thank you to my incredible coach Lisa Schmidt for all of her help getting us to this point this season.

Day 2 of Dressage at Jericho was also successful! Metallic Montana has joined the 70% club at First Level! Although she was tired from yesterday’s heat, she scored a 70.172% at First Level Test 1. So proud of this little mare!

Thank you Jericho Sport Horses for putting on a great show with super friendly volunteers and staff. Can’t wait to come and show at this lovely facility again!

Day one of Dressage at Jericho was a success!!

I am thrilled with Metallic Montana’s performance in today’s ride. Despite the extreme temperatures, she scored a 68.056% at First Level Test 3.

She has improved so much in a short period of time… and her rider remembered the test this time 🙈😂

Looking forward to First Level Test 1 tomorrow afternoon.

So incredibly proud of 5-year-old Metallic Montana who competed at First Level Test 3 and scored a 65.556% with a pilot error. This was her first rated show and first time competing at First Level!

March is TBI awareness month! Accidents can happen when you least expect them. I choose IRH’s IR4G XLT to keep me safe no matter what ring I’m riding in! The XLT is super comfortable, has plenty of ventilation for the warm weather, and meets ASTM F1163-15 standards.

Very proud of 4 year old Metallic Montana! Today was her first time off property and her first dressage show ever! We competed at Training 3 and scored a 65.34% placing 4th respectively. The future is bright for this one!
