Willow (W): Who's there?

Rascal (R): Ournewmom

Willow (W): Ournewmom who?

Rascal (R): Our new mom who came to meet us yesterday!

Willow (W): Is this one of those silly knock, knock jokes again brother?

Rascal (R): NO! She's coming back to see us again today!

Willow (W): I can't wait. I really like her!

Rascal (R): Me too sister, me too! I hope she takes us home today!

***********************
Rascal and Willow had a meet and greet yesterday, and their potential adopter fell in love! I mean, these two kittens are pretty irresistible. They are social, playful and so so sweet!

She's on her way back to visit them again today.

Could these two finally have a forever home together?!

Stay tuned for updates soon!

Willow was brought into the vet clinic back in November after being hit by a mail truck. She couldn't use her back end or the litter box on her own. She cried and cried all night. The next day, her brother Rascal was found still playing in the same area. Once the two reunited, Willow immediately started to purr. She was so happy to see him! The vet tech who saved them (Emily) worked with them for months. Now, Willow can use the litter box and play just like her brother. She doesn't climb to high spots yet, but we think one day she will be able to. The kitties have been in foster care for about a month now.

Thank you to Emily for caring for the kitties for several months and giving them lots of love!

🚨FOSTER NEEDED! By tomorrow!🚨

Onyx was recently returned to the shelter after her adopter found that the kitty had wet FIP! This is not contagious to other cats BUT it is 95% fatal if not treated.

The shelter does not treat FIP. The only way she will make it out is if a foster is found.

By tomorrow!

We will supply the food, litter and meds! (Oral meds- very easy to administer)

A spare bedroom or bathroom is all it takes!

She's in Volusia County but we can discuss other closeby areas if the foster can travel for vet checkups and supplies.

Mama Bella got her staples removed yesterday, 2 weeks after having her leg amputated. She's getting around well, and learning to get around with 3 legs. She's now a tripod! Her incision site looks amazing!

A huge thank you to Laura Stephens and her family for taking such great care of Mama Bella and her kittens. The kittens are growing like crazy! They recently had kitty colds, but Laura kept them feeling ok! They got over those colds and are back to being rambunctious!

Thank you to everyone who donated for Mama Bella and her kittens. We appreciate it so much!

Mama Bella was living outdoors with a degloved leg injury. A kind woman named Lisa brought her in when Bella had 4 kittens. She posted for help with them a few months ago. Randi sent us the post on Facebook to see if we were able to help. We rescued the family when Laura Stephens and family graciously offered to foster!

Sunny is recovering from the mass removal on his stomach and doing well. He's eating and drinking. He loves to sleep on his cat bed , and enjoys his time with his bestie Livie. Thank you to everyone who donated for his surgery and sent over positive healing vibes for him.

Sunny was rescued back in the fall of 2023 when his owner put his house up for sale and had ZERO plans of taking Sunny with him. Sunny had been forced to live outside several years prior by his owner for litter box issues 😿 Fortunately, the people buying the house contacted us for help. We posted for a foster and Helene Schreiner offered to help. She ended up falling in love with him and decided to keep him. Since rescuing him, she has taken great care of him. She contacted us for help a few months ago when they found a mass on Sunny's stomach. Thankfully, the mass was removed and Sunny continues to do well.

Willow (W): Who's there?

R: Adoptus!

W: Adoptus, who?

R: Adoptus, me and you...that's who!!!

Can you believe these two cuties haven't been adopted yet?

Well, the truth is, it is harder to adopt two kitties together. Many people are looking just to get one kitty as a friend for a kitty they already have.

But, these two have been through so much already, we really want them to have a forever home together.

Please consider sharing them and telling others about these two amazing siblings who are looking for a home.

We shared Ellie's heart-rending story last week with a recent video taken of her on Dr Nancy's lap.

We could see the sadness in her eyes.

She is heartbroken without her human mom Donna, who passed away unexpectedly a few months ago.

Ellie is having trouble adjusting without her, and really could use a kind, gentle soul to help her heart heal.

Ellie is good with other cats, calm, and very laid back. She loved to snuggle against Donna on the couch and always enjoys watching the wildlife out on the screened in patio.

We would LOVE to get Ellie into a patient and quiet home, a home with lots of love to help her on the next chapter of her life.

She's located in Port Orange, Florida but we are willing to work with people in Central Florida on getting her adopted.
She's about 8 or 9 years old, FIV/FELV negative, microchipped and spayed.

Please message here or text 321-431-7225 for more info on her.

Thank you for all of the shares on her previous video. Unfortunately, we haven't found placement for her yet.

Ellie was brought into the shelter back in 2019 with a broken leg. The leg could not be fixed and she had her leg amputated. After healing, she was adopted by Donna Scheidl where she lived until Donna passed away a few months ago.

Cat located in this city:Daytona Beach
Cat’s Name:Gomez

Cat’s Age & S*x: 1y old Male

Cat’s vetting history (spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped): neutered and shots 3/11/24

Animals story: (where found and reason for wanting to rehome):found him outside my home. He just didn’t belong out there and had no owner I could find, so now I have to find him a loving a safe indoor home! He does have an old wound on his nose but it’s healing nicely!

Personality (shy, social, likes to be held, lap cat? Likes or dislikes): extremely friendly. Loves attention and being held. Great with other pets and kids. He just LOVES to be LOVED!

Any Supplies that go with pet (food, litter, leash, cat box, bedding, toys): applied frontline on 3/10/25

What food is the cat eating (dry only, dry and wet): dry food - but I just learned how important it is for cats to get wet food daily. Hopefully in next home you can start giving it to him twice a day (read more on it below).

:::::::::::Please know that cats need canned wet food given DAILY. Why? Because cats have a low thirst drive and actually NEED the moisture from the wet food! Wet food is 75 % water (dry FOOD only 10%) and giving them wet food daily will help them avoid Urinary tract issues (which can lead to litter box avoidance), kidney disease, obesity issues linked to diabetes and cardiac issues. You will save on vet bills too! Limit the overly processed dry foodand ensure cat eats all the wet food daily. At the VERY minimum each cat should get one 3oz. can of wet food a day or HALF of a 5.5oz. can a day (although we recommend double this).
:::::::::::: More info here: FurryNationSalvation.Org/wetfood
IF YOU WANT TO ADOPT:
1) Please show up with a cat carrier
2) Small adoption fee of: $10
3) I will call/text one month from adoption day just to make sure everything is going well
4) Please show up with your Driver's License.
5) Information sheet will be filled out (your information as well as mine)
*Please know, that when you bring your newly adopted cat or kitten home, it is always BEST to place him/her in a very small room (bathroom works great) with their litter box, food, water, and bed for a few days to a few weeks. This way the animal can adjust much quicker and get acclimated to the new environment with less stress. All cats/kittens need time to adjust, so if you adopt please allow this. Thank you.

Milly Jean, rescued from a “BAD neighborhood” was ADOPTED! Congrats to Robyn and Sean Surowitz on their new kitten!

They have two cats already at home (ages 5 and 8), and was ready to adopt a 3rd.
Milly Jean was a bit shy during her meet and greet, but that didn’t stop her from finding a great home with the Syrowitz!

To recap on her story, Milly Jean was trapped in a bad neighborhood where other cats were being poisoned and hurt. So we are happy to get her out of that situation .

Happy home Milly Jean!

Well shucks...it sure has been a bit since my old foster mom gave everyone an update.

Geez...

Anyways, it's me Woody...all the way from Minnesota! Since my last update was right before Christmas, my foster mom still has some good Christmas photos to share. It was the best Christmas ever! I got to be with my family for my very first Christmas as an adopted kitty. Of course there were lots of goodies for me, and my siblings Snarf and Willow.

About Snarf...we still aren't the best of friends...yet. But my mom works with us all the time to help us get along better. I have been doing some behavior exercises, and now I know how to sit, high 5 and nose boop! I'm handsome...and talented!

Luckily, Willow and I have become pretty good pals. Sometimes I try to play a little too much with her, and she says nahhh...that's enough! But, I always go back and try to play again. She's a good sport and lets me get away with some mischief!

We have had a few more snows since that last time I checked in. That stuff is really neat, especially when it gets brought in on my mom's snow boots. I love to play with it. But, it always disappears just as I am having the most fun. Who knew...snow is magic!

Spring is coming soon, and I look forward to catching up with the birds and squirrels on my daily window watches. I love it here with my mom, and my family.

I'll check back in soon!

XOXO
Woody

Woody was rescued back in November of 2023 with a leg injury. We were worried his leg would need amputated, but with lots of patience, it ended up healing. Unfortunately, as his leg healed, he developed some bladder issues and was diagnosed with cystitis. He went to the vet for many tests and diagnostics, but no exact cause was ever pinpointed. We put him on some calming supplements, bladder supplements, and a wet food only diet which all helped him tremendously.

Woody was adopted over the summer when his amazing mom Christy Henrikson flew all the way from Minnesota to pick him up. And, then she flew home with him the very same day! Since being adopted, Christy sends us lot of updates on him. He is in the best of hands with her!

Cat located in this city: Daytona Beach

Cat’s Name: Leo

Cat’s Age & S*x: 3 years old, Male

Cat’s vetting history (spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped): Leo is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. He currently has no known medical conditions , he is a healthy guy

Animals story: (where found and reason for wanting to rehome): Leo was brought to me along with his brother and sisters when he was just a few days old. He is a bottle baby that was adopted out at 2 months of age and returned to me 3 years later. The adopters needed a break from him because he stared at them too much and wanted attention. Thankfully they contacted me as they sat outside the local shelter ready to turn him over. I was happy to take him back in and help him find his new forever home as he is such a special and loving kitty.

Personality (shy, social, likes to be held, lap cat? Likes or dislikes): Leo is shy at first. Once he warms up to his surroundings he is vocal and loves pets and belly rubs. He is a very gentle cat that will let you pick him up. He is unsure about dogs because he has little exposure to them but he was living with another cat when he was turned back over to me

Any Supplies that go with pet (food, litter, leash, cat box, bedding, toys): Leo will come with a litter box, food, bowls, toys, a bed, scratch pad, a cat house and a month supply of flea control

What food is the cat eating (dry only, dry and wet): Leo is currently eating Purina indoor formula Dry and canned fancy feast twice a day
We hope in next home he will continue to get wet food twice a day (limiting the dry food so he always eats the wet) to ensure he stays healthy (learn more below).

Ever since we have known Edgar Allen (EA) Poe, he's only had one good eye (as the other was injured when we got him!)

But, he always seemed to find what he was looking for.

I mean, he found animal control officers on a call for another kitty, and that's how he got saved in the first place.

And, even after his eye was removed, he's had no issues finding his toys, his kitty friends, his favorite spot to birdwatch by the window, his food bowl, his litterbox...the list goes on.

There's just one thing he hasn't been able to find...an adopter 😿

We have had EA Poe listed on the adoption sites for over a month, and he still hasn't even had one meet and greet. Often times, black cats are overlooked. Some people may worry about him missing an eye, even though it doesn't slow him down at all. But, we think it's because he does some bites when he is overstimulated. Fortunately, as he has grown older, he does this less and less. We only see it now when he is playing!

EA Poe is a little less than a year old. He loves to get pet and rub against his foster mom's legs for attention. He enjoys smooches. He is very playful, loves watching birds at his window perch, and is very vocal. He loves to play and sleep with other kitties.

We know the perfect person is out there for him and willing to give him the best home ever.

Butters, the sweetest tabby kitten, has been adopted!

Congratulations Dana and Kathy Shields on the adoption of Butters. Butters was rescued in the fall after arriving at the shelter with several health issues, including a pr*****ed re**um. Dr Nancy brought her home, and helped her heal. Butters even had a coloplexy surgery to fix the prolapse!

Dana and his wife saw Butters advertised on the adoption site, and couldn't wait to meet her. Unfortunately, Butters had a health setback and wasn't ready as soon as we tought she would be. Dana and Kathy waited for several more weeks while Butters got better.

And, after almost 2 months of waiting, Dana and Kathy finally got a chance to meet Butters! Butters was a little shy during the meet and greet, but she has really come out of her shell once settling in at her new home. She now has two fur siblings (including her sister Luna-the two look so much alike 🐈🐈).

Thank you Dana and Kathy for adopting Butters and making her happy in her new home!

Giuseppe was just enjoying and loving life back in 2021...until his family who had him his entire life became allergic. He ended up at the shelter, and couldn't be adopted due to his behavior there. He was a sweet and friendly cat prior to getting surrendered, but became so scared at the shelter that he couldn't even be handled!

Once out of the shelter and in foster care, Giuseppe really opened up. He was adopted, but returned just a few days later. We worked with him and got him comfortable. He was adopted again by an amazing family for several months, but was returned as he and the resident kitty were having some pretty major issues.

After the stress from having so many different placements in less than a year, how would Giuseppe ever find his forever home?

Well...Erin Clancy knew just what he needed! Erin saw our posts about him and knew she had to meet him. And...it was love at first site.

She was very patient with him and gave him lots of love. She worked with him to make him feel comfortable there at his new home.

Today, after being in his home for over 2 years, Erin still sees Gus making big steps all time. He lays on her chest now and gives head bumps. He's still cautious with new people, but wants to meet them even though he's a little nervous!

And, he and his kitty sister Pookie get along well. It must be a panda 🐼 cat connection!

Thank you Erin for giving Gus an amazing home full of love and patience!

Sigh...no one has even asked about us.

I think it's because of me.

When I was a few weeks old, I got run over by a mail truck. My back was hurt really bad. They took me to this place where there were doctors and stuff. They didn't know if I would make it. And honestly, I didn't know if I could get better. Not without him.

Him...my brother Rascal.

The first night away from him was the worst day of my life. My back hurt so bad. I just cried and cried. I was really sad. I missed him real bad.

But...the next day...he came to the place where all the doctors were too. We were back together. And, so, I figured I needed to get all better so we could spend our whole lives together. I didn't want him to have to be without me either!

Over the past few months, my first foster mom worked with me a lot. I couldn't even use the litter box without her help. But , now I can. I can do everything my brother can do except jumping real high. But, when I get older, I bet I will be able to. I am really trying to get strong just like him. So, one day, I bet ya I will climb just like him.

But, don't tell anyone...I'm scared he might get a home without me. Nobody will want to adopt me because I hurt my back when I was little. They might be scared that I can't do certain things. But, I can! I promise.

Maybe, someone will adopt my brother and me together so we never have to be apart again. My foster mom now says she's trying her best, but no one even asked about us. I am worried now.

Do you know anyone who would want to adopt 2 awesome kitties together?

XOXO
Willow

Willow was hit by a mail truck in November at about 3 weeks old. She was taken to a local vet clinic. Xrays at the time didn't show anything broken, but she couldn't walk or use the litter box on her own. The next day, her brother was found still in the same area, and brought to the clinic. A vet tech there named Emily took them home and worked with Willow for several months to help her get better. She can now use the litter box well. She sometimes will have a walk that seems a little stiff but she gets around just fine. She doesn't jump to high places but loves to play and wrestle with her brother with ease. Recent xrays showed no evidence of previous or current fractures, but the vet did find some narrowing between 2 of her discs in her spine. This is most likely from the trauma she had as a young kitten. There is nothing that needs to be done for this, and she doesn't have any special needs because of it.

The kittens are super sweet and playful. They love to be held, love to be pet, love to get kissed and are very social, even with new people.

We want to keep them together! They are 4 months old, up to date on shots, microchipped, spayed/neutered, and FIV/FELV combo tested negative.

DOC, from the “Foreclosure 3” litter was ADOPTED! Congrats to Pamela and James Adkins on their new kitten!

Kathy contacted us about adopting a kitten after her last cat passed away. She was excited to adopt Doc from the moment she saw his photo with his little tongue hanging out.
The meet and greet went well and just like that, little Doc found his forever home!

To recap on her story, Doc is part of the Foreclosure 3 and was living in a cage in a house with no electricity that was currently in foreclosure. He is siblings to our kitten named Shakes with wobble kitten syndrome.

Happy home Doc! Thank you agian!

Mama Bella continues to recover from her leg amputation that was performed on Thursday of last week. She was not moving around much for the first few days after the surgery, which is to be expected after having a leg amputation. Over the weekend, Bella has continued to improve. She is on pain medications. She is eating and drinking well, and is even up and moving around now. She will keep a soft cone on for several days (to weeks) as her incision heals to ensure that she doesn't try to groom the site.

As for the kittens...they're doing just fiiinnneee....they have become quite comfortable at their new foster home. They are running, playing and trying to win over the resident kitties!

Thank you to everyone who has sent over kind words for recovery and/or donated for the this family's care. We truly appreciate all the support.

Bella was taken in back in November when she had a litter of 4 kittens. She already had a degloved leg injury when she was rescued, so we do not know how that happened to her leg. Her original finder Lisa posted for help with the family, and our friend Randi sent us the post to see if we could assist. Luckily, Laura Stephens and her family had offered to foster another pair of kitties, and were willing to foster this family, as well.
